Avenue Rapp reminds of Barcelona, yet has its own charms. This building and Eiffel tower facing it. Interesting combination and views.

My husband and I stay in the 7th arrondissement during our annual trips to Paris. It took several years, however, to discover 29 avenue Rapp. It is spectacular, an amazing example of Art Nouveau architecture. Now, during each trip, we take the 15 minute walk to the building, and still find it breathtaking. It's close to the Eiffel Tower so... More

I do not see mentioned that the stunning door has glass that is definitely a stunning phallic representation. I work near here and many people stop and look at the gorgeous workmanship before realising what it looks like. Fun and beautiful workmanship.

You only get to see the outside of this unique building. I was told it is a private residence for widowed military spouses. Not sure if that is true. I found it while strolling the side streets between the Eiffel, Rue Cler and my hotel. Great photo shoot. The bonus, turn around and have lunch/dinner/wine at Grissio directly across the... More

Yes it is a famous location for the design of the door, but if you get deep into Paris you will see many locations with similar beautiful architecture. Was frankly disappointed and spent a max of 3 mins there. See it only if you are passing by, but don't take the time out of your travels just to go there... More

This is just one of the beautiful homes we saw on Avenue Rapp. We had the time to walk throughout Paris as we were there for three months. Walk up the street which is just a few blocks from the Eiffel Tower, stop for a drink watch the people and admire the façades. This will be very enjoyable after the... More

We had stumbled onto 29 Avenue Rapp back in 1998 while taking a walk after the requisite ride to the top of the Eiffel Tower, and we photographed this Art Nouveau façade without realizing how famous it is. Since almost every visitor to Paris visits the Eiffel Tower, it would be a great idea to walk just a few blocks... More

The house does have a nice facade, but it's hard to recommend going out of your way to visit it. Perhaps if you're staying in the area of passing through to the Eiffel Tower by foot or bicycle.

This wonderful building encompasses all the beauty of art nouveau -- but don't think a 5 minute look is sufficient. The longer you look, the more nuances you discover. And as an added bonus, about a block up the Avenue (go to your right as you face #29), you'll find a fabulous example of trompe l'oeil art on a painted... More

This site is a few blocks from the Eiffel Tower and well worth the visit. We were in Paris for 5 weeks and I saw no other Art Nouveau example that rivaled this. It is just a door - not a museum so it doesn't take long to visit. It is a quick walk to the Pont d Alma RER... More
