One of the best things we did in Paris was skip the hotel and rented an apartment. We were in one in the 7th arr. and it allowed me to take great walks at night when the family had called it a night. This is certainly not something I would tell someone to go out of their way to go... More

This Art Nouveau building located on 29 Avenue Rapp in the 7ème arrondissement was design in 1898 by a French architect called Jules Aimé Lavirotte. The other buildings he designed to much acclaim are located in: 151 Rue de Grenelle, 7th arrondissement (1898) 12 Rue Sedillot, 7th arrondissement (1899) 3 Square Rapp, 7th arrondissement (1899) 134 Rue de Grenelle, 7th... For architectural buffs and those who appreciate Art Nouveau, the building at 29 avenue Rapp in the 7th arrondissement is a must-see. The flamboyant facade with erotic symbolism, such as the unusual front door, won first place in the 1901 Paris facade competition. The stone and bricks show off myriad glazed tiles; balconies feature lovely ironwork; and there are myriad... More

Probably not worth travelling halfway across Paris to see this, however if you've come to the markets on rue Cler why not. We stumbled across it although I'd read something about it previously. Keep your eyes open whilst in Paris, it's not all mansard roofs.

The Avenue Rapp is a pretty street in the 7th arrondisement. It has lovely buildings, restaurants and some offices. Located close to the Eiffel Tower, it is a nice street to walk to/ on.

Avenue Rapp reminds of Barcelona, yet has its own charms. This building and Eiffel tower facing it. Interesting combination and views.

My husband and I stay in the 7th arrondissement during our annual trips to Paris. It took several years, however, to discover 29 avenue Rapp. It is spectacular, an amazing example of Art Nouveau architecture. Now, during each trip, we take the 15 minute walk to the building, and still find it breathtaking. It's close to the Eiffel Tower so... More

I do not see mentioned that the stunning door has glass that is definitely a stunning phallic representation. I work near here and many people stop and look at the gorgeous workmanship before realising what it looks like. Fun and beautiful workmanship.

You only get to see the outside of this unique building. I was told it is a private residence for widowed military spouses. Not sure if that is true. I found it while strolling the side streets between the Eiffel, Rue Cler and my hotel. Great photo shoot. The bonus, turn around and have lunch/dinner/wine at Grissio directly across the... More

Yes it is a famous location for the design of the door, but if you get deep into Paris you will see many locations with similar beautiful architecture. Was frankly disappointed and spent a max of 3 mins there. See it only if you are passing by, but don't take the time out of your travels just to go there... More
