A friend and I had the great pleasure of touring the 11th and 12th districts with our lovely guide Danièle. Besides being wonderful company, she was incredibly knowledgeable. We learned about the history and architecture of the area through visits to a local church and market and by exploring lots of inner courtyards and alleys that we might've otherwise missed.... More

My husband and I had the privilege of going on two different tours with Jean-Jacques, and each tour was outstanding. On our first tour, we met Jean-Jacques in Montparnasse, where he shared with us numerous stories of the artists who lived there, especially during the 1920's. A week later, we joined another group and toured the Ile d'Cite and the... More

Paris greeters is a no-charge private tour of a selective area of Paris. Stephane (Stefan) is absolutely passionate with the history of the Latin quarter. We experienced parts of the area more than what the guide books offered. Secret passages, tourist traps, quality restaurants where dollar for dollar we received good food for a fair price.

I met my Paris Greeter, Jean-Paul, at the Bibliotheque Metro Station in the Latin Quarter. We visited the Bibliotheque, which is a modern building with an impressive bird sanctuary in the middle. We walked along the river and saw other newer buildings that part of the growth that Paris has experienced in the last 40-50 years. We also visited several... More

We met our guide, Claude-Alexia, near the Louvre to begin our tour. For the next two and a half hours, we explored 19th century Paris through "les passages couverts". In the early 1800s, these glass-covered passages were built to protect shoppers from the rain. Many of the passages or "galeries" have been restored and have beautiful mosaic floors and tall... More

This was one of our favorite tours — and experiences (ever!) — of Paris. Paris Greeters matches you with a local for a totally unique view of the city, free of charge! During our tour, arranged so close to where we were staying, longtime activist resident Jean showed us his 13th arrondisement, ground level, from his special, utterly amazing perspective.... More

We were looking for a tour of a less-traveled area since we’ve taken most of the standard tourist tours in Paris. PG was able to offer a tour by Marc, a lovely gentleman who gave us a very interesting tour of the 14th district, a relatively quiet area on the edge of Paris. We covered overall Paris history, local architecture,... More

We had an absolute fabulous time with Alain. He could not have done a better job and our time with him was a highlight of our whole holiday. He gave us a wonderful tour that was just perfect in every way. He was kind, funny, interesting and a great host and personality for our French introduction. He made Paris an... More

This organization is great! If you are going to Paris by yourself and would you like see not so touristic places - try to reserve a stroll here. Me and my friends had a wonderfull stroll around Pere Lachaise and our guide was very good. I can only recomend this!
