It was a chilly, overcast, mid-January day -- in other words, a great day to be on the streets of Paris! And this was made immediately evident once we joined forces with our tour guide, Astrid, and her confidant, Thomas. Astrid spoke with passion and knowledge of the history of the Marais, its characters and its places. As a native... More

This was a most entertaining walk with Manuel who pointed out architecture, graffiti, and other little oddities along the way. His knowledge of the area was impressive with many entertaining stories. The walk is advertised as one which takes 90 minutes but it was more like 2.5 hours. However, like any organised event, there are trade offs. While I saw... More

We did the Montmartre/Sacre Coeur tour, a wonderful introduction to a fascinating section of Paris, with great views. Our guide, Laure, was interesting, knowledgeable, funny and entertaining, and made this a most engaging experience. Her specialist knowledge of art history really enhanced the tour.

This was a personalised tour. Charlotte asked started by asking what we wanted in particular to see. We ended up learning about both current and historic events. I loved the fact that Charlotte told stories to explain the historic happenings. It was a particularly a poignant tour taking us so close to the Charlie Hebdo offices and also the Jewish... More

We had a Notre Dame tour with Charlotte, and it was our favorite tour of Paris! She was so nice and full of knowledge. Describing and explaining the cathedral in a very detailed manner, and we never would have picked up on the meanings of the carvings or design work otherwise. We also enjoyed her extra side stories, availability for... More

I was a solo traveller spending a week on my own and it was also my first trip to Paris. I am glad I got the information about this walking tour at the start of my trip. I ended up doing 4 of their 5 listed walking tours, and I am very happy that I enjoyed each of the walking... More

We did two DiscoverWalks tours, with Quintin in Monmartre and Jean in the Latin Quarter. Both were well worth the money, and since they work on tips only, you decide what "the money" is. Our first tour was of Montmarte, on New Years Eve. We had been there before, but just knew there was more to see than Sacre-Coeur and... More

Our tour guide Alexandre was a great guide, very nice, funny and knowledgable. Unlike many free tours it was very historically and factually based, rather than just "story telling" which I really enjoyed. It was also a great way to view parts of the city you may not have found on your own or even known about. Alexandre showed us... More

Both tours were excellent. The guides were well-informed and brought their subjects to life. I would thoroughly recommend to anyone who is interested in exploring beyond the standard guidebook.

This is by far the best decision we made in Paris. Romain (our guide) is fun, personable and knowledgeable. This is a great way to see Paris, whether the first time, or the second. You will see places you'd never find on your own, learn things you'd never learn on your own. We are going to take all of the... More
