For me, it's better to do your own walking tour with the help of some guide/info online. Going with this tour for almost three hours is just a waste of time. We started at St. Michael fountain then ended up in Louvre. The walk is very limited and maybe half of the time is more on talking and telling stories.... More

Did two of the Sandeman's Paris tours. The free tour was with Nancy. She was great. Very knowledgeable, kept things light and fun on a cold and drizzly day, gave us advice on a speedy way to get through the major points of the Louvre, can strike a mean Louis XIV pose, and great recommendations on what were the most... My definition of free is that you don't have to pay for anything. As you are expected to pay the tour guide it is not free! I will never use these tours again

We had a excellent walking tour with Onno on both the Free Walking Tour and the Montmarte evening tour. Onno was extremely engaging and was highly interactive with the group and the tour itself was an excellent way to get introduced to the culture and history of present-day Paris. Would recommend 10/10

Our tour guide Nancy was superb, enthusiastic and capable of keeping a crowd of 22 on track as we walked around the heart of Paris. She clearly set the agenda and expectations for the tour. Great historic context for viewing the city on our own after the tour.

My wife and I are currently traveling the world for 5 months, and find it our responsibility to understand the history and culture of every city/country we visit. We take a tour everywhere we go, and have done roughly 25 tours over the past 3 months across 3 continents. The FREE Paris Tour was our first with Sandemans, and we... More

On advice from another couple in our hotel we booked a Sandemans walking tour of Montematre at night. The tour left promptly from near the Moulin Rouge. Our guide Niall was very friendly and enthusiastic, which was great. We were a mixed nationality group of English speakers and were soon chatting happily. Niall was very well versed in the area... We did a free tour with Nancy, who was friendly, engaging, and charismatic. We immediately signed up for a new Latin Quarter tour the same afternoon with her. It was clear that she put heart and effort into her tours as she was very excited in sharing with us the history of Paris. Few days later, we did the Versailles... More

Highly recommended. We had Niall Murphy and he was an outstanding guide. Truly opened our eyes up to a wonderful neighborhood.

I have done the free tour and the Montmartre tour three times each and I love them just as much now as I did back in 2012 and 2014. This time, we also did the Latin Quarter tour which was brilliant. Onno, Niall, and Nancy were fun and engaging, and extremely knowledgable about the local spots to eat. I would... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
