Karen was a wonderful, funny tour guide who gave great historical insights along with interesting little known facts/details of Paris. Being an ex-pat, she knew what kind of details to highlight and contrast that our group (3 Americans) found interesting. She was very accommodating and helped with insight into many other aspects of being in Paris (how to tip; what/what... More

My wife and I really enjoy the "TICKLE YOUR TASTEBUDS" tour. we had a great time learning from Karen all about French food culture, and the best part of the tour is at the end when we tasted them one by one. We still talk about that great experience almost everyday at home. I strongly recommend this tour to everyone... More

I've taken the Montmartre and Seine tours 3 times! Love Karen's tours. She makes it fun and informative while hitting all of they key spots in Paris and finding some out of the way places.

My girls and I had never been to Paris. I wanted to go on a tour, but I was reluctant because one of my daughters was only 13 and I thought that she might be bored. Finding Karen's Paris Along the Seine Tour was perfect for us. Karen was funny and bright. She catered to each of my daughters interests... More

A lot of people go to the Marais just to walk on the wild side in Paris' Jewish neighborhood, but they never get to understand the importance of this place. WIth Karen you will really get to the heart, body and soul of this fantastic area! She will take to you all the major locations but will open your eyes... More

My family joined a small group including a few other couples for Karen's waling tour of the Montmartre area. Karen's knowledge of the area, her ease with people and her great sense of humor made this tour one of our highlights on a three week trip to France and Spain. At every corner she had a fun story that combined... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
