My husband and I went to Paris with his parents this June. We took a night walking tour with Lauren, who arrived on time at our easy-to-find meeting place. She was very friendly, funny and knowledgeable! Each time she revealed a "secret of the night," it was accompanied by an interesting story we hadn't heard before. Especially memorable was Lauren's... We booked this tour at the last minute (11:00 for a 1 pm tour). I spoke with Karen who was very helpful and sent us all the information that we needed right away. Lucie was our guide. She was very pleasant and informative. She told us some unique stories that are not in any of the guide books. The pace... More

We visited Paris for a long weekend in June and were looking for an easy going tour which would point out some of the more interesting points of Montmartre. This tour was perfect. We were the only two who took the tour on that day and our guide Lucie was wonderful. As she said, it was all about us. The... More

We took the Jewish Walking Tour and enjoyed it immensely. Karen gave us a brief and suitable-for-kids version of Jewish history in France, then took us to visit a synagogue and to a wonderful kosher falafel restaurant for lunch. We learned about how recent anti-Semitic events in Paris have affected the local Jewish community.

I recently returned from a week long visit to Paris. During the first few days, my husband was working so I was going solo and scheduled a number of tours for myself, and several for my husband and I both during the latter portion of the week. My food tour in the Latin Quarter with Adrian was my favorite tour... More

During a 2 day solo layover in Paris, I went on the Tickle you Tastebuds tour, guided by the very personable Adrian. This tour is a small group tour, that is focused on eating typical foods purchased in the shops around the Latin Quarter. The group consists of no more than 6 people and on my tour, there were 2... We did the Paris Along the Seine tour with Karen. It was a great activity to learn about Paris. Karen providing an interesting and fun insight on the history of Paris and was very friendly. Our group was small and we were able to ask questions about our interests. We had a great time and would recommend this tour to... More

We took the Paris by night tour, and had Lauren as our guide. The tour itself was great, and taken to a whole different level by Lauren's great personality and knowledge. We walked extensively through, and learned a great deal about the Latin Quarter, the 5th arrondissement. It was informative, fascinating and fun. We also covered part of the St.... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Montmartre and give full credit to our Sight Seekers tour guide, Lucie, for showing us the beauty of this area in Paris. We concluded after our tour that Montmartre might just be our favorite area. It is less crowded and more peaceful than other areas in Paris and the views are beautiful. Lucie did... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
