Description: To bring the age-old traditions of the Hammam (steam room) to modern life...
To bring the age-old traditions of the Hammam (steam room) to modern life, and to transmit the precious values of this practice to other women – these are the desires that motivated Karisma Lasfar to share her culture and its history. The opening of O’Kari Hammam-spa was the fulfilment of these long-cherished aspirations. How much time do you have ? Karima wants to know if you have enough time to spare to receive the true Hammam experience. Two hours at least! And three would be much better! That’s because the Hammam experience at O’Kari is the polar opposite of all those “express” beauty treatments offered elsewhere.A sign of refinement and civilization in antiquity, the Hammam is an art of living, a rite dedicated to the harmony and the beauty of the body. This deserves all the time we can spare.

My three daughters and I had the most wonderful experience at the O'Kari spa while in Paris. One of the most memorable experiences in my life! From the beginning to the end it was heaven. The owner Karima Lasfar was so friendly and welcoming, very helpful throughout the whole process and spoke English for those who don't speak French. The... More

I booked two O'Kari Moon packages for myself and a friend. The price was similar to other spas but in fact seems to offer a more complete experience. We were warmly received in this well hidden gem. Its location in a small building actually gives it you a feeling of intimacy. All the employees were delightful and made us very... More

I bought my friend and I the O'Kari basic package a a birthday gift to her and decided to book for the end of our trip as a wind down. Having read other reviews here I feel I am not saying anything original but I can quite definitely state that this was the most perfect, relaxing time I have ever... More

I spent 4 hours at the O'Kari hammam spa (I purchased the Prestige package which for me is a complete spa experience) and I did not regret it one bit. From the beginning to the end I received friendly, excellent service by the staff and I found Karima Lasfar to be a warm, brilliant lady who knows what a woman... More

I am a detail oriented person so, so excuse my pickiness.. Since the last time I tried a hammam a couple month ago in the 18th district and I loved the way my skin felt after 4 hour of being there and my shoulder finally relaxed, I wanted to do it again and as a matter of fact, I wanted... More

Hidden in the basement of a beautiful home in the 2nd Arrondis is a place called "O'Kari Hammam" and it is the most magical place on Earth. My mother and I disappeared into this spa/sauna/ ladies Turkish bathhouse for over 4 hours and had one of the most unique and memorable experiences of a lifetime. The space is all made... More

Really nice little Hammam, very small and intimate, perfect to go with a friend, sister, mother or on your own for a girl's treat. Had a full body scrub and enjoyed the Hammam. Loved it and will go back!

The O'Kari Hammam in the 2nd arrondisement is an absolute Paris must-do! It is a women-only hammam in the North African style. Karima, the proprietress, is an absolute gem. All of the staff go out of their way to make one feel welcome and comfortable. The hammam is spotlessly clean and the bathrobes are wonderfully plush. I had a mild... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
