Heaven in a glass

The Lanson Champagne house is worth a visit, need to book in advance. Great Champagne tasting, try the Lanson Extra Age.

Relatively newly built the Lanson Champagne house is a working building and tours need to be booked in advance. The tours are informative and fun and great value at 10 Euros with a glass of champagne. All staff we met were friendly and chatted and the whole experience felt special.

The guide was very pleasant and knowledgable, and we enjoyed our tour, but we have been taken to more sections of the production process at other champagne houses we have visited over the years, so this visit was disappointing.

My partner and I did the Lanson tour on 12 November at 1430 and received a very warm welcome on arrival. Apart from us, there was a family of four from Ecuador who were great fun, and the guide was charming and highly informative. We felt most welcome, and the lovely receptionist had a taxi waiting for us after our... More

Having seen the Cathedral it seemed sensible to visit a Champagne house in Reims and we chose Lanson. Our tour, costing €10 per person (including a complimentary glass of champagne at the end) was conducted in English and was pretty comprehensive from the on-site vineyard to the fermenting and bottling processes). Really interesting - and good champagne to drink and... More

We booked two days before by email, we hadn't realised before leaving uk that pre-booking was necessary! €10 euros each payable there. There were two English tours on the day we went so we had the 14:00 one with one other couple. We enjoyed a full show round inside the House of Lanson in Reims. The very pleasant lady who... More

As other reviewers have indicated this is not just a visit to a wine cellar with a tasting at the end. This tour takes you round the complete production process and shows you how champagne is made from beginning to end. Depending on the time of year different activities will be taking place - we visited in early July and... More

This was a great tour, very interesting and well done. The guide was charming and engaging and the tasting was generous. At €10 a head, this was great value for money.

We booked a tour not knowing how old or large the Lanson house was in terms of production and history. It was a fun tour with a smaller group and a very informative tour guide. Nothing was rushed and we were able to enjoy seeing the bottling and the caves. The staff were welcoming and made the tour very enjoyable.... More

We arrived at Lanson after visiting hours accidentally. However, one of the lovely staff welcomed us in and we had a really nice chat whilst she let us taste champagne anyway! Would definitely return here.
