In my opinion it is the "Grand Dame of cathedral's". Just one of the most stupendous works of Architecture.....and it was the first use of the "flying buttresses" in architecture. Be sure to walk all around the outside...not just the front. Notice the gargoyles & other features. It's a must see place!!! more

Many years ago, while driving to Blois in the Loire, I stopped with friends in Reims to overnight. This cathedral was gorgeous. In all honesty, I preferred it over the Notre-Dame in Paris. If you appreciate architecture and detail, then you must visit here. The detail was exquisite, and even if you do not have time to go inside, you can appreciate the beauty from the outside just as well. more
