Our abiding impression of Tours was of a calm, relaxed city - exemplified by these beautiful gardens. We were lucky enough to come across them on a beautiful, sunny and warm Saturday afternoon in Autumn. The colours of the cypress and sequoia trees were delightful and we spent a very relaxing hour soaking up the atmosphere and watching the ducks!

This garden is exactly as it says in the title. Although well used by local residents it is very free of litter and an ideal place to 'people watch.'

I used to live in Tours and remember this park well. It's basic layout is very akin to a large English garden with a large lake and grassed areas with a mini play park. It's a lovely peaceful place to go on a Sunday morning for a little walk or to just chill out whenever and kick back. Tours has... More

This is a lovely park in the centre of Tours. Worth a visit to see the Giant Sequoia trees. They aren't as big as the Redwoods in California but they are impressive nonetheless.

One of the benefits of living in France is to take advantage of the many gardens available within the cities, especially for the enjoyment of the city dwellers. The Jardins des Prebendes is a great local garden in the center of Tours. There are playgrounds for the children and although not close to the commercial areas, it is a short... More

Lovely garden with a playground which is one of the most impossible thing to find in Tours city centre. Perfect spot for a little rest or to read a perfect book. Ducks are known as the permanent residents there. They are the cutest.
