My daughter climbed all over this wonderful chateau. The davinci stairs and the history behind the project in building the chateau were very interesting. The shops too were amazing with special beer and wine. We took a special tour bus from the Blois station and were there in no time. We had come from PAris and this made an easy... more

we visited Chambord during our stay in the Loire Valley in September 2008. it was one of our favorite places to visit during our trip to France - just massive and beautiful and awe-inspiring. the audio guide is well worth it - gives you some interesting and thorough explanations without having to follow around a guided tour. the best thing... more

I got to see Chateau Chambord on September 20, 2008. My tour guide told us that King Francois I who had only recently come to the throne wanted to make a statement of his power so he commissioned Chambord to be built. It took over 30 years for it to be completed. Francois didn't live long enough to see it... more

We travelled 1.5 hours to Chambord from Camping Parc de Fierbois to see the evening light and sound "son et lumiere" show and it was well worth it. You really have to see it to believe it, but I recommend it highly. The cost for two adults and one child was approx £15 (child under 5 was free), and the... more

La Loire Valley is very nice and it was a highlight of our trip (driving through majority of Europe). Gardens and forests around Chateau are... more

Everything (and more) that you could ever hope and expect to see in a Rennaissance (sp?) castle, is here. This is the stuff that dreams are made of. What an incredibly wonderful place. Your life will be that much richer for having gone here. I've seen it all now, I can die and be happy. more

I travelled to Chambord last year, and found the grandour and scale of the building awe inspiring. I was surprised as to the lack of furniture and fittings on view inside the chateau, however it is well worth a viewing especially the Helix staircases (concentric double staircase). The views from the roof terraces were spectactular. The cafe within the grounds... more

Its a great castle to have a look from the outside, pricey to see it from inside. Its better to look into the castle from exterior as it looks awesome, take a stroll all along the castle. the only highlight inside is the double helix staircase (just like the DNA) more
