Blois is one of the Loire castles that need to be visited and revisited for its art collections, furniture and amazing apartments of Francois I. Moreover, it is located in a beautiful city with medieval buildings, plenty of good restaurants!

Great combination of different architectures linked to history in a great setting. Well maintained and both visits at your taste, with audio guide or a guide from the castle are worthwhile. Check also if you stay the evening: the sound and light spectacle in the evening is really worthwhile and a great experience from the inner courtyard.

This castle is located in the center of Blois and was the residence of seven kings and ten queens of France. It dates back to the 10th C. when it was a medieval fortress built by the Count of Blois. When standing in the courtyard one finds a mix of French architecture over the years represented by four wings starting... More

Definitely worth the 10 euros. Great architecture from more than 3 centuries and political as well as religious intrigue was unexpected. Great views out over the valley.

This chateaux is one of the oldest and most historical ones. Anyone who has read Alexander Dumas' novels will remember the names and events mentioned there. Apart from all the usual attributes of a grand chateau, it has a magnificent medieval library - some of the books with wonderful pictures are on display. The fact that king Francis the 1st... More

We went to the chateau and went for a ride on top of a gigantic carriage with some more people and then had a light lunch admiring the chateau's facade.

....the little town/city of Blois is wonderful to walk around in, taking the stairs to the different levels of the city along the Loire and if you are already in Blois, visit the Chateau. The chateau is a conglomeration of different styles and the displays are well thought out. Would I run to Blois extra just for the Chateau in... More
