Cool tower

The view from the tower was awesome! Well worth climbing the steps. Very reasonably priced. Could use some more info on how it was built, the guide just unlocks the door.

Closed until April at least. Shame on the local tourist authorities. And, yes, I want a refund of my TGV ticket. I thought that cities should appreciate the tourists who are willing to come in the low season. Apparently not.

You can't travel to Dijon without a stop at the ducal palace. It's history at it's finest! Have lunch at one of the cafes across the square and watch the children play in the water. A great afternoon!

Don't leave Dijon without seeing this splendid building and nice semi circular place just in front of it where you can sit and eat or drink a coffee and enjoy the view.

The centre of Dijon is a building site at the moment and it was hard to visit or admire anything for all the scaffolding. My wife had to queue half an hour for the single public toilet which was maddening.

The palace is occupied in part by the Musée des Beaux Arts, Dijon Tourism Office and Dijon municipal government. A fitting monument to the power of the Dukes of Burgundy, the palace will not "wow" you like Versailles, the Louvre, or Buckingham Palace, but as a regional palace, is remarkable simply in that it has survived through so much war... Only in French tour spent way too much time on local peoples interest. We dropped out before the good part I think!

The palace is a must see if you are in Dijon. Not as grand as the national palaces but extremely interesting and a terrific insight into how the Dukes of Burgundy lived.

This is a typical historical trip in France -- see how the rich lived a long time ago. Still, the building and the art collection is worth a visit. Best, the joint is in the center of Dijon, so it's handy for a quick stop.
