It was a cold and damp day, the day we rode the little train. It was a good way to see the city and stay out of the bad weather. There is a loud speaker in English, but the commentary was a little on the short side. Still a nice way to familiarize yourself with the city. You could then... More

A very easy way to get knowledge and enjoy the sites of historic Beaune. The tour takes about 45 minutes and go once an hour, starting at the Hotel Dieu. It takes you around the city and even out into a part of the vines outside the ramparts. There are carriages with a pre recorded commentary in whatever language you choose.... More

We were put in the back row of one of the English speaking carriages and the seat is to be avoided as its much narrower than the rest of the seats and so very uncomfortable. It also meant that if you felt travel sick, it would not suit you as the train swayed quite a bit and was rough over... More

Nice to ride thru the city and obtain a introduction to the site, on of the couches provided English translation to the narrative and we saw both the city and short trip into the vines. nice value

For a nominal fee of 5Euros, you ride the train to get a glimpse of the city and get oriented. Is the best way to start your visit in any city where is offered.

We had gone on several little tourist trains around France, and this was the best. They had the commentary, in your language, 'piped' into the carriage you were in, which was fantastic. Our carriage was English and German. It was a 45 minute tour and even went outside the walls into the grape fields...good value for money and lots of... More

The little carriages pulled along the roads were full - rather cramped room for the knees if you are tall. The 45 minute trip is a bit repetitive, criss-crossing the narrow streets of central Beaune, but one did get a good idea of the layout. Our favourite bit was when we travelled to the outskirts, to a road edging the... More

An easy and cheap way to get some idea of what is in Beaune. For €7 you get about 45 mins on a train, well really carriages pulled by a motor on the road. A bit of commentary, enough to whet the appetite to go and explore on foot. I like things like this as you get some idea of... More

Not as interesting as some of these trains in France primarily because Beaune is really about one thing, wine. And most of that is hidden behind the walled courtyards of very famous merchants who tend not to need the visitors. The city is pleasant enough but has limited interest beyond the cathedral, the Hotel Dieu and the ramparts. It is... More
