I simply cannot believe that this place exists. Phenomenal. A fantastic introduction to the wines of Burgundy focussed around, basically, what makes you happy. There are no wrongs or rights, no 'bad' Burgundies - just individual preference. Just wish I'd visited on the first day of our visit. The tasting is free, it's a testament to the education offered and... More

On the recommendation of our host at Chez Marie, we booked in for a tasting session with Pierre. His knowledge and enthusiasm for wine was very infectious, and we learned a lot about how to experience all aspects of a great wine. The blind tasting was also a good way of introducing us to tasting and figuring out what we... More

If you want to taste wines this is the place. We tasted 7 white wines 7 red wines a champagne and cassis. Pierre is very knowledgeable about burgundy wines. At times I found Pierre to be condescending. He made negative comments about the wines of our countries, pretty much saying they were terrible. Where as California, Spain, Canada and many... More

Our group represented all "levels" of expertise with wine and Burgundy in particular. What I find incredible about this experience, is that Nicole's passion for wine, Burgundy, and educating others made us feel special, like we were her first, last, and favorite group ever. As other reviews have indicated, this is an ideal way to start your wine adventure in... More

Our host presented an excellent introduction to the enjoyment of wines, including visual, olfactory and the actual tasting of six whites and six reds, discussing it all in French and English for the mixed company over a three hour period. He finished with a couple of different sparkling wines. It was a delightful intro to Burgundy wines!

Following the recommendations on Trip Advisor we decided to set up an appointment for wine tasting immediately upon arriving in Beaune. Our experience was much the same as others who recommended this wine tasting facility. Nicole spent at least 2 hours with four of us. She explained the grape varietals of the area, the appellations, the designations and how to... More

We were in Beaune for 24 hours and just turned up. Unfortunately it was too late (5:30 pm) to do a proper wine tasting, but we were still treated to an express version, tasting 4 excellent local wines. Nicole was extremely welcoming and informative and made us want to come back again. Definitely a must if you have more time... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit today. After making a reservation, the two of us sat with the owner for over three hours tasting and learning about 5 white and 7 red burgundy wines. He had so much knowledge to offer! This was the highlight of our trip to Beaune! No pressure to buy, although the tour is free and you... More

Pierre spent about 4 hours taking the two of us through an extensive tasting of whites and reds which was enormously helpful in learning more about the classification of French wines, and appreciating the differences in chardonnay and pinot noir in different locations, soils, microclimates and vintages. He did this through blind tastings which demanded us to identify the changing... More
