My husband and I decided to do a wine tasting at La Cave de L'Ange Gardien because of all the great reviews on TripAdvisor, and we really desired to get to understand more about the Burgundy wines. We went on our 2nd day in Beaune, after already trying many of the wines at the Caves and dining, and to be... More

Our wine-tasting was led by Nicole, and she was WONDERFUL. We really loved the way she conducted the experience. We tasted the wines without knowing what they were, then were asked to rank our favorites in the white group and red group and, if we wished, to comment on our impressions. We learned a lot, both about the region and... More

This is a fabulous introduction to learning about and tasting Burgundt wines. Pierre and Nicole share their love of wine in an informative, engaging a and humorous way. Be sure to book for this. It was the highlight of our stay in Beaune. A must do, first thing

Don't believe the tourist office, they say here is just a small wine cellar. But actually it is really great. The master here know a lots about the wine and the region. It is a great afternoon. Merci l'ange!! You will know why they got full marks in trip advisor after visiting.

My boyfriend and I turned up on a Monday morning (we'd tried to go the day before but it's now closed on Sundays). Nicole had just opened up and offered us a place on a dégustation that afternoon. We only had the morning but she kindly offered to give us a mini-dégustation! We tried 10-12 wines and cassis and she... More

From the excellent reviews on tripadvisor me and my wife went directly to La Cave de l'Ange Gardien. We arrived in Beaune at 14 and joined a tasting at 15:00. The tasting was excellent, we learned a lot, both about tasting in general but also about wines from Burgundy in particular. They only negative comments I've read here on tripadvisor... More

We stopped with our tour group and sampled 3 wines. This included a white wine, red wine, and a dessert wine that reminded me of Robitussin cough syrup. Many people purchased wine, but somehow we bought some ginger bread which is a regional specialty. This tour does give you lessons on how to properly sniff, swish, and drink a wine.... More

I simply cannot believe that this place exists. Phenomenal. A fantastic introduction to the wines of Burgundy focussed around, basically, what makes you happy. There are no wrongs or rights, no 'bad' Burgundies - just individual preference. Just wish I'd visited on the first day of our visit. The tasting is free, it's a testament to the education offered and... More

On the recommendation of our host at Chez Marie, we booked in for a tasting session with Pierre. His knowledge and enthusiasm for wine was very infectious, and we learned a lot about how to experience all aspects of a great wine. The blind tasting was also a good way of introducing us to tasting and figuring out what we... More

If you want to taste wines this is the place. We tasted 7 white wines 7 red wines a champagne and cassis. Pierre is very knowledgeable about burgundy wines. At times I found Pierre to be condescending. He made negative comments about the wines of our countries, pretty much saying they were terrible. Where as California, Spain, Canada and many... More
