This was our fifth trip to the burgundy area. We saw the rating on trip advisor and thought we would check it out. Pierre surprised us with his humor and knowledge. We had paid for tastings in the past but learned more here than all previous visits. This visit was free. We tasted 16 different wines. We learned how to... More

This was our first holiday in Burgundy and the wine tasting at La Cave was a highlight of our holiday. We found La Cave through trip advisor and likewise with all previous reviewers, we too were not disappointed. Nicole is a wonderful host and guided us through 4 white, 6 reds, 2 Cremant de Bourgogne (sparkling wine) and the 'sublime'... More

I'm not sure I've ever reviewed an attraction or activity before but something positive had to be said. We enquired this morning and luckily got a space this afternoon. The tasting was thorough, informative, and generous and Pierre is obviously passionate about what he does and sells. I won't talk about specific wines as I don't want to ruin suprises... More

This is not your average wine tasting - as other reviewers have noted it is an educational experience...the quality of the wine you get to taste as part of this is really just a bonus! Our tasting was with Pierre, who took us through 5 whites and 6 reds, along with 3 other couples. We took notes, assisted by Pierre,... More

We had no idea how this would go except the outstanding TA reviews. So we speak English and Pierre, the owner was our "teacher" The "cave" is opposite the park/signal at the republic corner. See flags. So, our first 45 minutes was getting to know us and talk about France Russia and the USA. Then we did a tasting of... More

By far the best way to get to know the most famous wine region in the world. Pierre and Natalie are people with a strong love of craft and can instruct wine drinkers at any experience level with humor mixed with facts. And the cost is Zero! You do get a heavy dose of French national pride and knocking Napa,... More

My husband and I decided to do a wine tasting at La Cave de L'Ange Gardien because of all the great reviews on TripAdvisor, and we really desired to get to understand more about the Burgundy wines. We went on our 2nd day in Beaune, after already trying many of the wines at the Caves and dining, and to be... More

Our wine-tasting was led by Nicole, and she was WONDERFUL. We really loved the way she conducted the experience. We tasted the wines without knowing what they were, then were asked to rank our favorites in the white group and red group and, if we wished, to comment on our impressions. We learned a lot, both about the region and... More

This is a fabulous introduction to learning about and tasting Burgundt wines. Pierre and Nicole share their love of wine in an informative, engaging a and humorous way. Be sure to book for this. It was the highlight of our stay in Beaune. A must do, first thing
