Nice afternoon at the races

We had fun, betting small amounts and cheering on "our" horses. Had a nice lunch at the panoramic restaurant where we had a good view of the whole race course.

The Hippodrome de Pau is situated outside the city center and is closer to the airport. The race track is the site of some good winter racing activity. Very close by is an enormous and renowned equestrian center.

Brilliant, an excellent day out for anyone who loves horses. Races of all types on the card, Steeplechases, Hurdles, Flat and even a Cross Country race. Very exciting.

There is no entrance fee to watch the racing. The stands are very clean and there is a good restaurant with huge panoramic windows to see all of the courses. A days programme includes a complete mix of racing, flat, hurdle and cross-country.

Free to park, toget into the racecourse, even free racecards. Excellent mix of races on each day. On site 2nd floor restaurant with excellent course view at 30 euros is good food and the best option if weather is cold.
