After having a rainy start to the day, we decided to use this day to go to the aquarium. As soon as you walk in you get the excitement of what you are going to see. It is set over 4 floors so its is quiet big. Some lovely fish on display. Walking round the area was big and roomy,... More

When you are all beached out, the aquarium makes for a lovely visit. Easy to find, the aquarium is decently priced and well worth the money. There is a good variety of fish and tanks making for an interesting visit each time, and the seals provide ample entertainment on their own! The shark tank is wonderful to watch (it spans... More

Good way to spend an hour or so on a rainy day. Not the biggest and best aquarium you will ever see but lots of good displays and a small touch tank is fun. Good for kids.

We spend one half of a rainy day in the Aquarium in Biarritz. It was a great experience with so many different species of the seas. We did not visit the other site of the Musee de la Mer which is located outside the city center.

We spent 2 hours in the aquarium. Lots of different fish species. Tanks and water very clean and clear. Well laid out with lots of viewing positions. There is a huge shark tank on the top floor you could spend an hour alone watching. 14 euro for an adult is a fair price. Good option for a rainy day in... More

This is a great way to loose a few hours if the weather is bad. Some of the tanks and displays are extremely good. The last tank is by far the best, I could spend hours watching. The children and teens alike enjoyed the two hours we spent there. Good value and most enjoyable.

Really a well presented aquarium with lots to see and learn. The signs are in French, but if your language skills are a bit lacking there is still plenty to get from the visit. Lovely old original building, but the new parts really are right up to date and add to the experience. Two to three hours should allow you... More

The last time I was in Biarritz, the aquarium was closed for renovations. I had visited before, many years ago, so I was happy to return to the new and improved aquarium this year. The old part of the aquarium retains some of its original charm. Most noticeably in the mosaic tile work, art deco signage and grand staircase. The... More

I am not a fan of zoos due to feeling sad for the caged animals , but I love to watch fish in aquariums and don't think they have the brains to mind. This is a wonderful facility which has been greatly expanded since my last visit over ten years ago. They have retained the original art deco facade which... More

I really liked this aquarium, perfect for about two hours of looking at fish, sharks and seals. I did feel a bit bad for the animals, the tanks were quite small.
