Place de la Bourse is surrounded on one side by gorgeous buildings and on the other by the river. It has a festive feeling to it.

Place de la Bourse showcases the best of this period of elegant architecture in Bordeaux now beautifully restored and scrubbed up forming 3 sides of a square, the 4th being Quai Richelieu on the Garonne waterfront. Across this roadway is a shallow water feature which acts as a reflecting pool for the Bourse buildings.

We visited after dinner to stroll off some of Bordeaux's wonderful cuisine. The square is very grand and was beautifully lit in the evening. The water feature was busy with kids and adults alike but we liked this, feeling it added to the atmosphere rather than spoiling it. You won't spend hours there but it's a nice spot to get... More

If you are going to Bordeaux my strong suggestion is to bring with you a good camera, with a really good panoramic lens: the Place de la Bourse is massive, reason why with a normal camera is not really easy to take picture that clearly reppresent the magnificent size of this square.

Definitely worth taking a walk here both day and night. The mirror image makes it even better when tit walk closer towards the river.

Historic buildings on the river reminiscent of Versailles beautifully lit at night and a great place to walk after dinner.

The pictures of the Place de la Bourse are magnificent...when there isn't a sole in sight. But in reality it is an overpopulated mess come 10:00 a.m. We walked by once and didn't understand what all the fuss was about. See for yourself and you will see what I mean.

It is not the detail what strikes, but the feeling of harmony of the architecture. A must see, but also no more than that

It'd been raining on and off all day when we visited, and while the Place is undoubtedly beautiful on a fine day, we simply couldn't capture a worthy shot (and we hung around in the rain for about half an hour trying to get one). Photographers, look up the weather forecast before you come.
