Yes it may be hidden and we came across it by accident - thank goodness. The facade of the church, is in baroque style Jesuit represents the Virgin giving the rosary to St. Dominic; This rosary gave its name to the square adjacent to the building. Take the time to locate and view.

Get lost and you'll find it. Full of magic, it drags you in and you just fall in love with it. The light inside is simply wonderful. A must visit in Bordeaux.

Love the walk way, the architectural and the grandness of the church! It makes the story comes alive (hunchback of Notre Dame). I went during winter, so the queue is not so long, do take some time to take photos around the church, its simply beautiful!

Previous reviewers are mistakingly thinking that Notre Dame is the Cathedral Church of Bordeaux, and of using, wrongly, photographs of Cathedral Saint André in their reviews. This baroque church is hidden away behind the Grand Hotel of Bordeaux in Place du Chapelet. The nave is huge and the overall impression is one space and light, not evident from the exterior... More

I think it looks more impressive outside as it sits all by itself on a huge open 'place' in the city center. It seems to tower up to the sky as you walk up closer to it and then when you enter it is still very impressive but you feel more contained. Perhaps the word is protected? As what a... More

Set on a hill overlooking the vineyards, the interior is so beautiful. There is a wonderful atmosphere in the church and it was lovely for a wedding

It's amazing the way this just pops up when you go around the corner. A small cathedral by cathedral standards but just as beautiful. Mass is celebrated here and even though I have no French it was beautiful and just as spiritual.

Worth a few minutes to walk around inside. A great location on a quieter street. Saw a few tour groups taking their visitors there but we just walked in on our own.

Notre Dame is almost hidden away in the Place du Chapelet a bit of backwater square behind the Grand Hotel and main Cours Intendance tram thoroughfare. It has a fine stone baroque fron blending in with surrounding buildings but inside is somewhat austere with an unusual barrel vaulted roof.
