Not to be confused with its more famous namesake in Paris, this 11th century church is beautiful in its own right, with its elaborately carved facades and detailing.

The outside is beautiful and hidden in a lovely little square that I had high hopes for the inside but it is really dark and without any lighting it lack any atmosphere. Great for funerals but not inspiring for an average tourist.

We stepped inside for a quick look after lunch. No one else was there. The stained glass is amazing and intricate, also in incredibly good shape. Small compared to many cathedrals but this made it seem intimate and more approachable. Loved the architecture both inside and out. Glad we went!

Taken here as part of a conducted walking tour of Central Bordeaux. The external carved detail is magnificent and the interior beautiful. With your back to the Grand Opera infront and to your right you will find a small alley called Rue Mautrec the Notre Dame church is 100 metres up in the Place de Chapelet. Make time to visit.

Excellent baroque church in the old town. The facade has beautiful detail and adjoining buildings around the frontage offer great photographic opportunities. We went on Sunday evening and therefore able to take part in the worship for a while, in French of course! Magnificent splendour of formal worship.
