We used our free pass to go but it would have been worth paying for.The Rohan Palace houses this museum as well as the musee des arts decoratifs(also worth a look).I'm not an expert but I really enjoyed the paintings, pamphlets give a little insight to the works and can be found in each room.

We chose this museum in the Palais Rohan as our "free" museum using our Strasbourg Pass. It is a lovely little museum (it takes up 1 floor of the Palais Rohan with 2 other museums on the other floors). The little leaflet detailing the recommended artworks in each room is great and a useful guide. The art is wonderful. Recommended.

Before you come here, art lovers should go see the Musee de l'OEuvre Notre Dame, the Modern, and the Lalique. Reason is that this is a sizable expanse of rooms filled with 2nd rate canvases. Yes, they do have canvases by a good number of Europe's great artists, I had seen a list. Zurbaran, for example, is a personal favorite.... More

I have read previous reviews about the staff not being helpful but did not find this at all. Older people pay about half the standard entry rate and the girl on the desk gave us directions. We had a laugh with th guards at the entrance and found everything clearly signposted. Some lovely works of art including paintings by Rosetti,... More

Although not as well known as many European art museums, this one is worth a visit nonetheless. They have some amazing pieces here and it wasn't as crowded as many other museums.

I liked this museum. It had a variety of nice art to look at. Compared to other museums it doesn't have as many big names but on a rainy day it's a great way to appreciate art

If you are interested in art this would be a must if you are in Strasbourg. We combined this with a visit to the decorative art section of the Palais de Rohan. Together they formed an impressive experience.

Located in the palace this is kind of a two for one. An art museum and in the old architecture of the palace. A great environment for a museum. While wandering the halls you will also admire the structure of the building. The art ranges of many types from the greater regions of Alsace and its surrounding partners of the... More

I particularly enjoyed this museum. Easy to navigate and well-organised, the walk-through is a pleasurable one. I particularly enjoyed the Italian early and high Renaissance paintings.
