The Archeological museum and the Apartments (Cardinal's & Royal) were both very interesting. The art museum was nice but not a major museum compared to the Louvre.

The castle itself is beautiful, and contains three different museum: archeology, fine arts, decorative arts. The two lasts are good, not the archeology, which is, in my opinion, quite insignificant.

We bought tickets for all three museums that are housed inside the Palais de Rohan, but the archeological museum was by far the best. This is a great way to spend an afternoon in Strasbourg.

While it does have 3 museums, the Archaeological Museum in the basement was our favorite. It has many rooms with hundreds of outstanding artifacts that are well displayed. One interesting display was the ancient skeletons found and housed in glass cases and floor level. This allowed you to walk and look right down into them. The kids loved that.

The museum is in several parts and each is worthy of a visit. You can get a combination ticket for all museums if you plan to see them all on the same day which is quite possible as they are not terribly big.
