This is an okay experience, and reasonably-priced. For a quick introduction to Strasbourg it is a good choice. Keep in mind that the Strasbourg river and its banks are a mixed bag, view and cleanliness wise. There are no drop-dead fabled views, either, comparable to those that come every 5 minutes on the Seine. It is worth coming early so... More

The Batorama cruise of the island was delightful. But make sure that you get your ticket in advance. We just went to the quai on our first day in Strasbourg and discovered that all of the cruises were sold out for the remainder of the day. We were able to buy tickets for the next day, which worked out well... More

Many of my friends suggested, that I should have this boat tour. It is a must I was told. After my own experience I am not quite so sure. Long queue at the ticket office, fully packed boat, boring story through the headphones, uncomfortable seats, no chance to take quality pictures. I agree, that this is a quick way of... More

We were treated to the Strasbourg, over 20 years of history boat tour by our hosts. I enjoyed the commentary and views very much. The only frustrating thing was taking photos inside the boat because of the reflections on the glass window. This comes highly recommended.

We visited here in late October 2013. We arrived at the Batorama ticket office on the river quayside early but could not get on a boat until 11am. This is due to the tour groups who have already made arrangements in advance. The boat takes you down to the covered bridges through Petit France and you get a really good... More

Really good way to start your stay and get your bearings before deciding what to explore later on foot. You get to see all the best bits from the comfort of your seat (although the seats weren't actually very comfy, no back support whatsoever as they are too flexible and make you lean back too far!). The commentary (in numerous... More

Our family (kids 10 & 12) thought this was a nice way to see the city instead of the usual walking tours we do. We found it relaxing and comfortable. Person at the ticket office was pleasant and helpful. The audio guides were a great idea, especially the children's guide, this kept our kids interested and occupied. Perhaps the audio... More

Hi TraciBProsepine, Many thanks for your post. About the audio guides, since last year we have been working on them. They are almost ready and new ones might be released in several weeks. If you happen to come and visit us again, try them and let us know. More

You'd imagine looking at a map of Strasbourg that a boat trip would be interesting & informative. On the contrary, this boat trip was short, slow and surprisingly dull. It only goes up and down one side of the city (from the departure point to the European Court) and being low, surrounded by high buildings you can't see much. The... More

Dear BristolEagle, Due to maintenance work on the locks that usually allow us to trip around the heart of the city, we were not able until February the 21rst to offer our usual tour to our visitors. Therefore your tour lasted only 45 minutes instead of 70 minutes. The regulations state that the speed of the boat must be up... More

The Strasbourg pass will cover entry onto the tour and entry to just about everything else you would want to do in Strasbourg. The tour itself is not the best and it is not very organized when you enter the boats, but the sights from the canal are incredible. Everyone should take the tour but I suggest not wearing the... This is a wonderful trip which takes a little over an hour. Be warned, it is very busy and you have to queue to buy tickets, which are for a later allocated time - perhaps two hours after you buy tickets. However, you travel all through Strasbourg and see the important areas, which you might not see on land. Also,... More
