Spent a few hours in Colmar while on a bike and barge trip. Old city is very attractive and easy to get around. We cycled in and out of the city without any problems. Lots of quaint cafes to have lunch and a drink. You can take a 1 hour train ride which points out the highlights of the town... More

We visited Colmar for the afternoon when our River Boat Cruise docked there for the day. The city is quite wonderful, preserved for centuries. There are many, many unique shops and restaurants so plan to spend some time shopping and eating. We were provided a guide and I'm not sure which company booked her, but she was not the best... Lots of walking as usual with lots of history to absorb. Frederic Auguste Bartholdi, designer of the Statue of Liberty, once lived there in the now Bartholdi Museum. There is a miniature replica of the Stature of Liberty there. Colmar is home to the Maison des Tetes named for the 111 heads decorating its facade.

Reading about this Town is apparently more charming than seeing. A walking tour of about one and half hour provides a complete impression. Unfortunately the route indicators have to be taken from street name signs, which aren’t at every corner. Little Venice is the main attraction, but for sightseers with other experiences elsewhere it is quite limited as a comparative.... More

We did the all-day tour from Colmar, and had an excellent experience. Price is a bit high, but we thought it was worth it. In the morning we were the only people on the tour, but were joined by two other couples for the afternoon portion. As others have noted, Jean-Claude is an excellent guide who intersperses his personal experiences... More

I can't say enough good things about Jean Claude. He is an excellent tour guide. He grew up in the Alsace region, and even worked in his father's winery. We toured the countryside, as well as the villages of Equisheim, Kayserberg, and Turckheim on a half-day tour. We opted for the additional wine tasting. We loved the wines of the... More

We had an amazing day, and saw so much, all the villages we visited were beautiful. Jean Claude's lunch suggestion was delicious, the wine tasting also good. Cannot fault the day, great way to experience the area in just one day.

It was a great time in Alsace. Jean Claude is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Did the half day tour with my wife. I'm not going to repeat how everyone else is describing the tour, because it is exactly how it goes. The wine tasting was a great plus. If you what to see those amazing towns while being chauffeured around.... More
