We travelled with Riviera to a river cruise on the Rhone in May 15. Unfortunately after arrival, a fast thaw of mountain snow caused the river to rise to a point where the boats were prevented from operating. Riviera organised the first half of the holiday using coaches and we were able to see some of the country as planned,... More

This was our 3rd river boat cruise,2nd w. Amadeus. Our 2nd cruise was w Viking which doesn't compare,we chose it based on date and won't do that again! The size and ammenities perfect for us.The boat is immaculate, food and service outstanding with great selections and an especially warm staff. Wonderful sights history and culture. No fuss no muss.

Our first river cruise. Travelled by rail to Avignon with relative ease. 4 hours from Lille which was apparently the same time it took for the transfer from Lyon airport. We did experience a hiccup at Lille when the Riviera rep could not be found. Firstly the Swiss Corona. Brilliant layout, beautiful decor, light and airy, clean. The soundproofing needs... More

I have been sailing the Rhone for the past 3 1/2 years of my life, and can't get enough of it! Every time that we go up or down stream, there is something new or unseen to be discovered. Beautiful and breathtaking countryside sceneries, magnificent food discoveries on a daily bases, and some of the Best wine regions of France!... More

I was totally satisfied with this cruise. The boat was lovely, the crew and attendants couldn't have been nicer, and the food was outstanding. I would definitely take another river cruise. You don't get to see the towns in a lot of detail because you are only there a short time, but it is a very relaxing way to travel.... More

It was great fun to visit Arles, Avignon, Vienne, Beaune, and Lyon. The surprise charmer was Tournon-sur-Rhone, a little town on the west bank. Generally, however, this cruise was so-so. I expected the effect of two of the world's gastronomic and viniculture centers (Provence & Burgundy) to make an impact on the ship's food and wine, but not so. It... More

Just returned from an 8 day cruise on the Swiss Corona, which was truly a five-star experience. Cabins a decent size and spotlessly clean. The French balcony (basically sliding patio doors) was well worth the extra for a private close-up view of the river sliding past. Meals of top quality and ample variety so forget diets until you get home!... More

We agree with many of the good comments made by other travellers as below. First a word about the French TGV train from Lille - if your ticket shows "Duplex Up" this means you will have to negotiate the winding stairs to the upper deck taking your luggage with you - a difficult enough task for the able bodied and... We have just returned from our first river cruise [we usually go ocean cruising] and we were very impressed with the standards on board Swiss Corona. We did the trip in reverse, flying into Marseille with a transfer to Avignon - amid a tremendous thunder storm - where all the staff were waiting outside with umbrellas! Cabins are a bit... More

We have just returned from a wonderful cruise in the south of France with Riviera Travel on the MS Swiss Corona. The trip was well organised, very relaxing and good value for money. The crew on board the ship were exceptional and could never do enough for you, particularly the restaurant team. The tours were very informative and paced just... More
