It was great fun to visit Arles, Avignon, Vienne, Beaune, and Lyon. The surprise charmer was Tournon-sur-Rhone, a little town on the west bank. Generally, however, this cruise was so-so. I expected the effect of two of the world's gastronomic and viniculture centers (Provence & Burgundy) to make an impact on the ship's food and wine, but not so. It... More

Just returned from an 8 day cruise on the Swiss Corona, which was truly a five-star experience. Cabins a decent size and spotlessly clean. The French balcony (basically sliding patio doors) was well worth the extra for a private close-up view of the river sliding past. Meals of top quality and ample variety so forget diets until you get home!... More

We agree with many of the good comments made by other travellers as below. First a word about the French TGV train from Lille - if your ticket shows "Duplex Up" this means you will have to negotiate the winding stairs to the upper deck taking your luggage with you - a difficult enough task for the able bodied and... We have just returned from our first river cruise [we usually go ocean cruising] and we were very impressed with the standards on board Swiss Corona. We did the trip in reverse, flying into Marseille with a transfer to Avignon - amid a tremendous thunder storm - where all the staff were waiting outside with umbrellas! Cabins are a bit... More

We have just returned from a wonderful cruise in the south of France with Riviera Travel on the MS Swiss Corona. The trip was well organised, very relaxing and good value for money. The crew on board the ship were exceptional and could never do enough for you, particularly the restaurant team. The tours were very informative and paced just... More

My wife and I have just returned from a 2 month tour of Europe and Brittain which included a 21 day Barcellona to Paris cruise with APT in August 2014. We arrived to begain our tour with APT in Barcelona by Train from Paris after spending a few extra days in the "City of Lights" so we could experience more... More

We were first time river cruisers and travelled in reverse direction, Avignon to Lyon between 4th and 11th August and, in line with other reviewers, I cannot praise the boat, its crew and the standard of cuisine on board and the quality of the boat itself highly enough as all well and truly surpassed our expectations. However the trip itself... More

We travelled with Great Rail Journeys for a river cruise on the lower part of the Rhone in France and it was most disappointing. No WiFi yet we were informed only a week before departure that there was WiFi throughout the boat. No minibar to keep water cold in the cabin, and we were charged 2.90 Euro for a bottle,... More

This was a cruise recommended to us by someone who had experience it. The cruise visits Avignon, Arles, Vienne and Lyon as well as other less well known places. The river cruise ship Swiss Corona is a beautiful ship having very attractive cabins and the food is excellent, beautifully cooked. Breakfast and Lunch are buffet style but there are extra... More

MS Swiss Corona 28th July – 4th August 2014 Cruised - Lyon to Marseille Emerald Deck Suite This ship listed as 5* certainly did not disappoint. Everything about the ship was immaculate and clean. The crew were exceptional. A well organised week by Riviera but do be prepared for a lot of walking and no lie-ins. Most walks/trips starting at... More
