Not only were my friend and I delighted with the ticket prices (£6) , but we were happy with the brisk service in the cafe upstairs. We ordered the croque Monsieur and croque Madame respectively, which were lovely. They didn't sell any bottled water for me to take in to the cinema but the manager gave us tap water in... More

I lived in Manchester for three years and came here regularly. They show most of the block busters but also great indie/foreign and independent movies as well, if your looking for something a bit different. It makes a really nice change from the usual Cineworld or Vue experience. The cinema is small, comfy and normally quiet empty. The location is... More

I've been going to this place for years and it's reassuring to see that it hasn't really changed a bit. It's an independently run arts space and cinema which shows a wide variety of films, including foreign language ones. It also hosts regular film festivals. If you're at a loose end on a rainy day in Manchester I would recommend... More

I never tire of visiting this well-run arts complex in Manchester which I've been going to for years and years to see independent cinema and cutting edge art. Visited recently to see the film 'What Masie Knew' and was greeted by friendly and approachable staff in a venue that is spotlessly clean and easy to navigate around. 3 cinemas, a... More

I really thought I would love this place. Started off really well with a lamb burger and beer upstairs which was yum with good atmosphere and friendly staff. We then saw a film - it was an unusually hot day and not the place to be as there is no air conditioning and we were sweating buckets (but this would... More

A great place to see independent and foreign films. Matinee adult tickets only £5.50. Usually quite quiet at this time (which I prefer). A great place to see a film if you are going on your own or in a group. Monday and Tuesday nights offer The Reel Deal which consists of a cinema ticket, pizza and drink for £14.50.... More

I went to the Cornerhouse to see The Great Gatsby, which is an alright film but I've not taken the film into account on this review. I've only been to the main screen, which is small by Cineworld, Vue and Odeon standards but it is definitely a big enough screen for the size of the theatre. The seats are comfy... More

Excellent coffee, excellent place, excellent environment. I enjoyed every minute of being there and the service was very good. I would definately go again there. If you do prefer the first floor anf if available choose one of the bog, cosy, black sofas

The Cornerhouse is one of our favourite spots in Manchester. As well as its galleries which have regularly changing exhibitions of top contemporary art, there is a 3-screen art house cinema showing really interesting films - we like the annual Spanish and Latin American Film Festival very much. And there's an excellent cafe and restaurant. Mondays and Tuesdays they have... More
