Bar - venue to hire too. Reasonable ticket prices to cinema (around £7-8) Small cinema theatres, feels very personal. Pretty building in good area for drinks and food and hotels. Parking across the street. Next door to great smoothie / junk food shop (Archies). Cafe on site.

I try to visit the Cornerhouse 2 or 3 times a week - depending on films being shown. The building is great, with Galleries (not of vast interest to me, I must admit. But showing work by new and exciting artists - just not usually my cup of tea!), 3 cinemas, wonderful bars and food, and a great bookshop! The... More

The Cornerhouse is an institution in Manchester and I've visited it on many occasions. Most of these visits have been to its rather good bar which has an excellent selection of beers (although it's Malbec is very poor in my opinion) but, at last, I've now visited its cinema. There's always a great atmosphere about the place and it attracts... More

Booked to see Northern Soul was very suprised no booking fee when booking online, walk past the place loads of times but had never actual visited the Cinema side, staff friendly & helpful, explained never been before when I collected my tickets from the box office - that was a very smooth transaction too, was directed where we needed to... Called in after visit to Palace Theatre.Purchased drinks from bar then found that spare tables and chairs were out of bounds for some reason!Plenty of people piled in after and walked out because no area to sit.On the bright side hubby said they served a decent pint of IPA!

Saturday lunchtime a great venue for a coffee to plot the next stop on the weekend tour of Manchester. Being a cheese-wedge of a corner building there are windows on 2 sides making it a very airy, welcoming space. The food looked good although I was more keen to check out the art, Sophia Al-Maria's extremely unsettling multi-media piece, Virgin... More

Love this cinema. I have been coming here for a few years now and my last visit was Friday 5th September 2014 to watch 'The Keeper of Lost Causes'. I love the feel of this place. I sometimes come alone and sometimes with my wife depending what films I want to watch. Either way it always feels comfortable and love... More

Not only were my friend and I delighted with the ticket prices (£6) , but we were happy with the brisk service in the cafe upstairs. We ordered the croque Monsieur and croque Madame respectively, which were lovely. They didn't sell any bottled water for me to take in to the cinema but the manager gave us tap water in... More

I lived in Manchester for three years and came here regularly. They show most of the block busters but also great indie/foreign and independent movies as well, if your looking for something a bit different. It makes a really nice change from the usual Cineworld or Vue experience. The cinema is small, comfy and normally quiet empty. The location is... More
