Only a small attraction, but it was a lot of fun. The staff were really friendly and taught me a lot about the history and talked to me about little bits of information. I think the staffs friendliness really made the place that much better. I really liked the old prison cells and the court yard as well. I thought... More

I organise day trips for people living with Dementia. We visited here for a special tour you can arrange on days the Museum is not normally open to the public (subject to their volunteers being available). I visited the museum the week before our booking to have a look round and check it was a suitable venue for our purposes.... More

There are no signs to this place but I followed a map. The place is only open one day a week but when I made a special trip and rang the bell as the sign instructs the person who spoke on the intercom said there were no staff available to open the museum. When asked when it would be open... More

We visited this on a rainy day and were very pleased with the attendants - all, I guess ex-policemen - dressed in uniforms of different periods who were happy to talk to the visitors. We especially liked the Magistrates Court upstairs. Nothing like putting your loved one in the Dock and given them a ticking off in magisterial fashion to... More

Lots of police memorabilia, old police cells and magistrate's court but best of all is that there is often an old police car or bike that children can set off the siren.

Took the children and they thoroughly enjoyed it as exhibits are easy to access and the tour of the cells and courtroom are very interesting.

Having managed to time it right with the opening hours, I was really excited to visit at last. The museum has a mix of exhibits and historical rooms - cells and courtroom. All are fascinating, and the commentary on the signs around the place give a helpful insight into the history of manchester through its police force. This place is... More

A fun hour spent here in the Easter holidays. Just a bit busy and crowded, with it only being open in the holidays.

Only open on Tuesdays, we spent 2 hours here, information given by enthusiastic, mostly I think, retired policeman. free entry but worth a generous donation.
