A small museum packed with history and artefacts. The first room contains memorabilia from WW1 and is quite emotive. Then it takes you through the ages and includes original cells and court room, vehicles and murder weapons amongst other paraphernalia. There is senior policemen dotted about telling you facts and history. I am so pleased I finally visited this gem... More

One of the best museums I have ever visited! Lots of interesting exhibition pieces, uniforms, vehicles (and even a police horse), weapons etc. but best of all are the very friendly and knowledgeable staff who are on hand to answer any question or to tell a fun story. Great experience, would recommend it to anyone.

Unique experience. Went into cell-pretty grim. Had fingerprints taken. Sat in dock in courtroom. Plenty of exhibits. My grandson loved it.

Visited the museum with my son who was quite enthused to come on a day the Firearms Unit was on hand to demonstrate. A great piece of history and a morning well spent.

We had a great day out at this museum, My five children two of which are teenagers and the others aged 4, 8 and 9 all enjoyed learning about how the police force used to be like and how they have changed. The younger kids liked dressing up in police costumes and also having the opportunity to sit in a... More
