We took our 7 year old here and it is a fab little gem of a museum. The volunteers are brilliant and the information is great! The police officers that were there on the visit we did were there with a traffic car and the new rainbow car that is to be used to raise awareness against hate crime! Brilliant... More

What a wonderful attraction! I went with my family my daughter 12, my son 8 and my husband. Looking for things to do in the summer holidays we came across this. It is a free attraction and it relies on donations. We learnt a lot and the kids loved trying on the police uniforms and hats. They had cells weapons... More

Well worth a visit if you are nearby, entry is free, and with loads of information on display, who can say you're not getting your money's worth. The exhibits include a range of historic motorbikes and other forms of police transport, a crime room with descriptions of various crimes, some objects related to them such as a collection of confiscated... We made a special visit today for my grandson to see the Dogs. The handler was explaining how they worked, and let the children close to the two dogs. All staff on hand are very helpful to answer all your questions. Well worth a visit

What a fantastic Victorian museum in the centre of the city. Sadly it's only open on Tuesday. On school holidays it does open on Thursday as well. Run by volunteers the majority being retired police staff who interact brilliantly with visitors. See how policing was achieved in the past with many displays and items on view. Visit the court house,... More

A great place to spend an hour or two. Plenty to see including different uniforms from years gone by. There is a chief inspector's office with exhibits of various weapons that have been used committing crimes. There's a little dress up corner for the children. One of the highlights were the cells and the magistrates court. During our visit a... More

A really interesting museum which provided very good quality information. The staff were all incredibly helpful and very knowledgeable. We visited because we had some spare time while in Manchester and I am very glad that we did. An excellent museum with something for everyone to be interested by,

A fascinating insight into policing set in an old police station, with a charge room, cells, a court room, numerous exhibits carefully displayed, even a small shop. With very knowledgeable guides - retired police officers - it is well worth visiting, but it's only currently open on Tuesdays between 10.30 and 15.30, so plan accordingly!

Been meaning to call in here for some while. Have pased it often enough, but my wife and I made the effort the other day on passing. What an atmospheric and interesting collection on policing this is. Its free, and its so well laid out. Something for everyone here, and the kids will love it as they can dress up... More

Fantastic morning spent in the museum. Its really compact but the information available is immense. We would recommend it to families and adults alike. There are many opportunities for children to interact and enjoy learning about police past and present. The guides have excellent knowledge and are happy to assist in any way they can. Keep up the hard work... More
