Love the intimacy of the Lyric, the smaller of the 2 theatres for musical performances. Drama, opera and pantomime in the Quays theatre usually brilliant. No problem with hearing from anywhere in auditorium. And go for the tub of ice cream with ginger in the interval - wow!

The Lowry exhibition was good although I would have liked something more interactive. There was an excellent exhibition of the history of children's television which I loved as it reminded me of my childhood, e.g., seeing the original Tracy Island made by Anthea Turner on Blue Peter.

Had always wanted to see this, my husband and I weren't disappointed it was fabulous, superb effects, the horses were so realistic you forget they aren't actually real!! The cast were brilliant and relaid the story so well, there are some loud gunshots etc which made me jump in parts. If you were wondering about seeing this, it is worth... More

We ate here before a performance of Warhorse (which was outstanding). The food was great value, very good and we had a wonderful view along the canal. The staff were lovely and made our visit very special.

Took friends to see War Horse. First visit to this theatre but found the theatre to have great visibility as all seats in Stalls are tiered and curve to the stage edge, and plenty of room even for my 6' 5" husband. Sound was very clear and good acoustics. Show was amazing. Toilets were clean, and approached on a spiralling... More

I am convinced that children's TV past is far better then it is today, but perhaps that's my age as when I sit the boys down with some of the old programmes they find them boring (eeek how dare they!!). So when I was told about the 'Here's One We Made Earlier' exhibition at The Lowry in Manchester I was... More
