What a great day out. Our tour guide Craig was lovely and very informative, we learnt lots about the band and others such as The Stone Roses who my boyfriend loves. We toured around Manchester and got to visit many places connected with oasis and heard lots of really interesting stories about the band. We thoroughly enjoyed our day out... More

Beyond brilliant... I came to Manchester for the sole purpose of doing this tour. I couldn't make the scheduled tour so booked a private tour. Absolutely exceeded expectations. Craig Gill was extremely knowledgable, very friendly and flexible about changing the itinerary. We stopped at Salford Lads Club, the iron bridge, the house where Morrissey was living when The Smiths first... More

Did the Oasis tour which was a gift for my birthday from my wife. The tour was run by a member of Manchester legends Inspiral Carpets (Craig Gill) so you know you are in good hands. The tour started at Dry Bar and is a during place to start since of the history with Manchester legend Tony Wilson and Craig... More

Bought the walking tour for my brothers birthday. I am Manchester born and bread and consider myself well up on the history of Manchester music, so I went on the tour not expecting to learn anything new. I was very wrong, the tour is conducted by Craig Gill the drummer in the Inspiral Carpets. The beauty of this is that... More

If you are considering doing one of the tours, my advice is DO IT! We did the Morrissey/Smiths tour and it was fantastic. I booked the tour as I had always wanted to do it but never got around to it. You will not be disappointed. I can't wait to do the Joy Division one next time. Absolutely brilliant.

Been a Smiths and Morrissey fan for ever and this was a great nostalgia trip, well worth the money. Great tour guide in Craig Gill from Inspiral Carpets.

I'm La Carmina, a subculture journalist, and went on Manchester Music Tours to do a story about underground music in the city (with a focus on New Order, Joy Division and The Smiths / Morrissey). Here are photos and a full writeup about my experience: http://www.lacarmina.com/blog/2015/05/joy-division-music-tour-manchester-smiths-morrissey/ The tour is run by Craig Gill, who drums in local band Inspiral Carpets.... Craig G, Owner at Manchester Music Tours, responded to this review

In this case the customer booked on a Scheduled Joy Division Tour which started at 10.30am from Oldham Street in The Northern Quarter, the customer then booked on a train that was not due to arrive at Manchester Piccadilly station until 10.55am, subsequently the customer missed the tour. It is important that people have the necessary travel arrangements in place... More
