Went for first time to Summer in the city, pixies 2014 concert. What a fabulous music venue. Good views. Bar organised well for swift beers! Toilets... well usual queues and toilet facilities for a festival venue. Overall given the excellent weather I couldnt have been anywhere nicer

I really enjoyed walking along the canal. The area has been sympathetically restored with lovely buildings and some very pretty canal boats moored along it. Look out for the very cute duck house. There are a few bars to stop and sit in for a longer visit. I found it a very peaceful part of a busy city. Well worth... More

It's a Damn shame there aren't more of them. Castlefield Summer in the City festival was great. Pixies and James were fantastic. I know the courteeners played last year, but I remember when this was one of Manchester's trendy spots. I remember Depercussion days with Alfie, I am Kloot, Clint Boon experience, Space and more. Come on Manchester. I know... More

As people have said not a false generated area. Beautified yes but that is because it used to be old and mainly derilict wearehouse area with what was industry to feed the narrowboats with goods from the the mills and stored before shipped to the rest of the world. So as the topography was dictated by needs in the 18th... More

Manchester at it's best. Nice for a walk. Interestingo to see the roman remains and think about them. For a snack go to The Wharf. Pity they don't do a good quality cup of tea.

Not a theme park by any means but part of the heart of Manchester. A variety of watering holes and eateries - Dukes 92 and Albert's Shed being my favourites - perfect for afternoons and evenings as well as being a popular part of Manchester night life. On holidays and during the summer there are frequent outdoor events. You can... More

Walking around here is nice and worthwhile. There are boats you can rent if you are in a group. Restaurants.are around too. Its not too tidy though, but feels unique. If you are visiting Manchester, have a walk in this area too.

It's always nice to have a walk near the canals during a nice day, perhaps after a nice meal in castlefield. There are quite a nice restaurants around here.

Beautiful outdoor place and very very sensitively conserved area. Great for a stroll and to look at the canal system and the fabulous rail bridges. Especially love the walk by the canal to Deansgate locks and further on. Lots of are of kids to run around if needed or just to laze on the grass in summer. The new pub... More

On a gloomy April day we had a walk around Castlefield. Even on this day it was really good and interesting. Canals, boats, architecture and industrial heritage plus lots of food and drink opportunities.
