... I'm not sure whether this is because before going back last month, it had been years since my last visit, or whether the displays are just a little bit dated! There hands on childrens level and the aviation section are probably the best bits. More

Excellent museum, with free entry. Located in old mill buildings, with a large variety of technologies, machines, trains etc to see. Well worth a visit, you need at least 3 hours to see only some of it. More

This museum gathers all of Manchester's industrial heritage, and you can see the starts of some of the biggest industrial technologies. It displays a replica of the first computer to run a programme, the baby, which was built at the University of Manchester. It also displays all about the clothing and garment automation and how it started. Lots of info... More

Lots to see and do. Great history, easy to navigate around. As interesting for grown ups as children but be warned. The nature of the building is that the place is incredibly noisy when there are school parties visiting. And they visit a lot! Very Manchester. Well worth a visit. More

large site covering most aspects of the industrial revolution. Large exhibits include planes and engines/turbines amonst others in various warehouses. Next to the Coronation Street site and Castlefield. The only let down is the lack of a good cafe/tea room when we visited last year - the small basic one closed before 4pm when there were still a lot of... More
