Very enjoyable and interesting... The place is massive and completely free. You could spend the whole morning or afternoon going around the 5 buildings to see lots of things... Highly recommended if you are in Manchester!

A great family favourite. We like the layout and all the different zones. Whether you are after interative displays or something more traditional it is there. The cafe is pricey, and is mostly sandwiches with alternative fillings. I would always take my own food in the future. Saying that what we purchased was nice.

A fantastic museum which needs a full day there. Exhibits include weaving machines, trains, Manchester water, sewerage and electricity systems, planes etc . All really well described

We didn't have long enough here. Could do with almost the whole day to see everything. Lovely café and food is reasonably priced.

Spent an afternoon pottering around here with the kids. It's a huge site so we didn't get time to revisit the engines or the aircraft. Focused on the excellent temporary exhibitions and had a rest in the cafe too. Plusses - it is free, friendly and has some fantastic objects on display. And as the world's first ever passenger railway... More

I went in to the 'Mosi' after a day site seeing; I didn't get to see the whole museum as I'd gone late afternoon and it closed at 5pm, but it was fascinating. It's free, though if you want to donate they suggest £3, and there are secure lockers which you need a pound coin for; the lockers are downstairs... More

If you are stuck what to do with the kids during the school holidays this place is very good. Loads of interactive activities for the young kids and also a soft play section. The teenagers and adults will enjoy the working engines/ airplanes etc and its free entry. A great place to visit to learn about things like the Industrial... More

We took three of our grandchildren to the Museum on Saturday. They enjoyed the day especially the live show, maybe because one of our grandchildren was chosen to be a helper. They had great fun taking photos of themselves and looking for their pictures on the screens as you go in. I wasn't sure about the hall with the planes... More
