Visited last Saturday when most people were Christmas shopping - so the Museum was quiet and easy to explore. Lots of interesting displays aimed at the junior school children market. Located in and around a number of old buildings the exhibits included a working steam train (with rides available) as well as looking at the development of Manchester through the... More

not your typical museum, much more interactive and therefore has exhibits to suit all interests. The dinosaurs are always a big hit, but there is so so much more. Just go an experience it for yourself!

We took our grandchildren aged 6 and 4 in October and enjoyed what we saw and used. Some of the exhibits were not available but altogether a great day. Good food provision too.

Just go!!! Mega good museum and well worth the suggested donation of £3. There's posts as you go in that take your picture and it gets displayed on the big monitor tree above. Good photo opportunity. There's so much here that we couldn't see it all.

Something for everyone to see. My grandchildren throughly enjoyed the dinosaurs. The place is kept clean and tidy at all times there was staff to ask questions. A tour of the museum, the cafe was reasonably priced and of standard quality.

I had not been here for a number of years, it was a fantastic place to take children, the power house full, Cotton machines working, fun on the top floor with bubbles etc, Now half the things in the Powerhouse appeared to be missing, no noisy cotton machines(or I may have missed them) the top floor was full of buttons... Found the museum well laid out with some very interesting exhibits. I found the area containing some of the early computers fascinating. The on site catering was very good with the restaurant offering some great food at reasonable prices
