I must admit I loved the previous VIC over the road with all its Twitter trending displays and wide range of merchandise but clearly funding has Ben a problem and its downsized significantly which is a real shame. However despite the stripped down smaller premises and retail offer the staff are the usual excellent people you expect in Manchester. There... More

I popped I here whilst in Manchester on business. I found the staff very friendly and helpful and good selection of touristy type presents at a very reasonable price. If you want a gift for someone try here rather than the post office 50m away which has tourist gifts at extortionate prices.

This facility has recently moved from its large corner site to a much smaller unit near Piccadilly Gardens Metrolink station. This was my first visit to the new place and it is about a quarter of the size of the previous place. Guided tours often start from the Visitor Centre and the old place had a few seats where you... Friendly place where we are able to get the information for Manchester itself. The staff was nice enough to point out the different directions for us to have a better idea on how about to go around Manchester. It is a must, should you need information of Manchester!

We visited Manchester for the first time in many years and everything has changed. Instead of walking aimlessly around we asked 2 people in authority where it was but neither wanted to tell us. I know that sounds stupid but it seemed that way. One said it was in Britannia hotel off Piccadilly Gardens but it wasn't, the other just... More

This very modern and well appointed building is easy to find and the staff were very helpful with details and local knowledge on where we wanted to go. They also chatted about their personal visits to these areas, if you need information on what is happening and how to get there, this is the place to go

Hard to find and uninspiring. Member of staff couldn't be bothered! Circled some libraries and churches very quickly on a map. No use to us with two teenagers and so fast even if it was we couldn't keep up with her. No attempt to find out what we were interested in. No attempt to encourage us to stay and spend... More

I know that the Visitor Centre is in the midst of a makeover but the experience of my wife and myself today was so disappointing. This is a city I have been wanting to visit for years. I expected to be able to get up to date information on tourist sights, public transport etc. But no, nothing was offered. How... More

Went in with my mother to ask which way it was to the museum, and made to feel like a nuissance by a sour faced old woman behind tbe desk. She whipped out a map and started manically circling different attractions, snapping when either of us asked a question. So utterly rude. That woman shouldn't be in a job anywhere... More
