Visited the museum to fill an hour I had spare in Manchester. I managed a quick tour of the whole museum in an hour. Most of the collections and exhibits are as mentioned in the title, are natural history. It is free admission so couldn't really criticise much. There is alot of work going on to upgrade the museum so... More

Nice restaurant but gets crowded and more retail 'canteen' than gourmet food. Gift shop will give you hundreds of culturally rich options which are bound to impress whoever the lucky recipient of your generosity may be.... More

My favourite building in Manchester - gothic and dramatic on the outside, ..gothic and dramatic on the inside! Egyptian Mummies around spooky corners, an awesome T-Rex called Stan, and the beautiful newly redesigned Living Worlds galleries are my favourite bits- there is also a fab collection of sparkly rocks in the geology area and loads to do for kids and... A wonderful old museum that is crammed full of great displays and activities. Perfect for a wander or a family day out. Worth the trip out of the city centre. More

I used to live in Manchester and this was one of my favourite places to come. Whenever anybody came to visit me from back home I'd always find myself taking them here, it's full of lots of history and great things to do. Not only is the history in here relevant to Manchester, but they also range their exhibits from... More

Great for tourists. I learned a lot about Manchester here. Definitely not a lot of locals. I also loved the mummies and the interactive money display, where a museum worker let us hold currencies from thousands of years ago. More

Maybe not a fair review because the museum is undergoing some pretty extensive renovations--but everything seemed to be sort of in a jumble. The exhibits that were intact were interesting. We especially liked the coin/money room. More
