A time warp! Truly amazing trip back in time and a small selection of items to purchase. The skills have been passed down through the generations. Truly a family business and top quality craftsmanship.

The Old Silk Mill is worth taking some time to visit. Local artists display their work and many also work on site. Harts Silversmiths is wonderful. Our children love seeing sheets of silver, half made items and beautifully finished items. Not only does it look and feel like you're stepping back in time but you will be welcomed by the... More

Wonderful to see real craftsmen at work, the silver is beautiful and to see the tools they use was super.

I was staying in the area in my campervan and came across the Silk Mill by accident while mooching in the rain. What a wonderful place. The silversmiths area on the 1st floor was like stepping back 100 years. A real live museum with a very nice and pleasant man who was happy to show us what he was making... More

Arts and crafts at their finest! Ideal for the visitor to UK wanting to take home something special. The crowning glory was the traditional silver smith on the top floor - tap, tapping away at precious metals to produce exquisite pieces of silver etc. You are transported back over 100 years with the artifacts and the atmosphere. Don't pass this... More

Tucked away off the Main Street, this place is well worth a visit. Firstly it has an excellent cafe, serving good coffee, cakes and lite bites, secondly it has a wonderful gallery, packed with work by genuinely local artists, thirdly it has a jewellery making outlet, and last but by no means least, you can visit the Hart Silversmith workshops!... This is worth a visit because of the history of the site, but there isn't the evidence of that history that I was expecting. However the art gallery is interesting although pricy, and there is a nice café.

Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear that you didn't find enough history in the building although we hope you found Hart's like stepping back in time. There is also plenty of arts & crafts history at Court Barn Museum (near St. James's Church) so we do hope you'll give us another try! More

Clearly a valuable historical site. Learned about the Arts & Crafts movement in Chipping Campden. New improvements will bring this place to life. Currently lovely galleries.

After visiting the Court Barn, my husband and I walked down to the Silk Mill - for one of the most memorable visits we have ever made. Several craftsmen occupy the premises, and we visited two of the workshops. Witnessing silversmiths at work surrounded by their tools and output really brings to life what it's all about - art +... A Mecca for Arts & Crafts enthusiasts. Wonderful to see the silver workshops and crafts people in action. Great that such an important industrial building is being used and preserved. Ashbee would be very proud! And came away with wonderful bangle. Thank you!

We're delighted you enjoyed your visit - everyone in the building works very hard to preserve Ashbee's dream and we're very proud of what we've achieved. It's lovely to know that our work is appreciated! More
