Staying at an inn for the first time was a marvelous experience. The staff, food and room were first class ( Room 1 ). The beer was excellent, something you rarely get even in good class hotels. The atmosphere in the bar during the evening added to the enjoyment of the exceptional food on offer. We stayed during September, Chipping... more

A lovely pub with lots of character and history. We didn't stay there but went in for a drink and also had an evening meal on two nights. The food was excellent, more restaurant quality than the usual pub fare. The service was excellent too and the staff very friendly and welcoming. It's advisable to book even midweek as it's... more

Upon the recommendation of our driver, we had lunch at the Eight Bells Inn while driving through the Cotswolds. The Eight Bells has a menu that goes beyond the typical pub food. The food was good and the service was friendly and efficient. more

We recently stayed for 2 nights in Room 5 at this historic and charming inn. The accommodation itself was very good, although I do agree with previous reviews about the noise. The walls are paper thin and it's like being in the same room as the next guests. On the first night the couple next to us were very vocal... more

My boyfriend and i have recently stayed two nights at the Eight Bells inn. The room itself (no 5) was very quirky and we really liked it, bed was really comfy, loads of hot water....only downside was the noise. The walls are very thin so we could hear conversations from the room next door and the office downstairs.....which was a... more

On a walking tour of the Cotswolds and looking for good, local food each night. We found it at Eight Bells. Excellent service; excellent food choices and quality. We enjoyed a table by the fire, with one of the local's dogs seated quietly by our side. It felt like home. Clearly a choice of the locals. We would go again. more

We had booked to eat at and to stay at the Eight Bells, Chipping Campden. We stayed in room number one. The best thing about the room was that it was spacious and warm. The decor lacked charm and was not to our taste but at least the room was clean. However, we were disturbed during the evening, during the... more

i did indeed talk to this guest on departure at which time she said she had not switched on the light in the bedroom, at 4.30 in the morning, and was in darkness during her 'trip' - this to avoid waking her husband. we do advocate that our guests use the lights provided when negotiating unfamiliar rooms. regarding the 'humming'...

Due to unforeseen circumstances with a hotel booking in another town, I was forced to drive through the Cotswolds looking for accommodation. By chance I found the Eight Bells and what a find! It is everything that you would wish to find in a smallish Cotswolds town and more. The staff were friendly and helpful and it was a real... more

we have found a gem! what a beautiful example of cotswold town and inn. the rooms were fresh, newly refurbished, and very comfy beds - most of them king-sized which was such a bonus. the staff were so friendly and helpful and the food top-notch. would definitely recommend and return. more
