Nice for when you've got a few hours spare, very interesting and educational. Would often get on the bus and take kids here

A complete history of Doncaster. Walk through the ages and see what happened. The KOYLI tour is well worth taking if it's on and the Military section is fabulous. The museum itself is tucked away so a lot of people don't realise it's there. Ample car parking across the road. Lots to see and it's free.

Not on the grand scale of some cities in the UK but none the worse for that. It is possible to see it all in one visit. The displays are well set out in chronological order. It is a pity so few visitors go there. One of the best of many museums I have seen.

Lots to see. The section on the first war is excellent and there are some super paintings and displays but the building is very tired and needs and lick of paint and modernising to make it worth anything other than a casual visit.

Good way of keeping the kids amused during the holidays.covered the history of Doncaster and the River Don't. The art gallery had some extremely old paintings and lots of things for the kids to do.

Decided to take a trip to this museum and art gallery one Saturday with my elderly parents and husband. Lots of interesting things to look at and learn about, free entry, little reception area where you can get a coffee. Really enjoyed it and only a short drive from Sheffield. Would go back again for another look round and learn... More

Visited on a quiet Sunday morning during an already scheduled visit to Doncaster (for shopping). The museum was very quaint and low key, very unassuming but perhaps too much so. The exhibits within the limited floor space are quite interesting, both me and my 6 year old found things to enlighten us, and it has really been put together with... More

There is a lot to see here, and it is all really interesting. There is always something going on, and it is great for kids. Learning with enjoyment!
