Went on 27/7/15, great day even paid for a year pass as it is lovely just to walk around during the holidays. Went to eat and the food prices are crazy £2.10 just for a bottle of coke and over £5 for a burger meal with no drink and nothing special. We have been going here for years but won't... More

This is supposed to be number 1 Zoo in Midlands, we took our Grandchildren it is now outdated, all the large animals that were the attraction when I was younger are dead and not been replaced, Elephants, Bears Gorrilas, Polar Bears, animals you think would common at a Zoo of this size and history !!!..all enclosures have not changed, except... Heard bad thing over the years - run down. Mid treated animals. Should be closed down. I was surprised !!! True it is passed its best days. The elephants and lions are gone. On the other hand have never been so close to a Tiger, the giraffes so close you can smell them. The Lemur walk is a must! Ambushed... More

The zoo looks fairly run down from the outside but don't let this put you off. Lots to see and do here and great fun for all age groups. Having the castle on site is an added bonus and the ghost tour is very spooky.

As the time span of children is limited, having an Annual pass for an adult and child (wish I'd had the one including car parking too - that makes the deal even cheaper) is ideal as my grand-daughter and me don't have to stay for a l o n g time to get our "money's worth". It is a lovely... More

The zoo is a bit tired looking and in need of modernising. However there is a nice range of animals some in better enclosures than others. It's very dated and I feel like some serious investment is needed. It's not a bad day out but not the cheapest for what it is.

This whole place is so run down and a disappointing day out. Every enclosure looked run down, dirty, had absolutely no enrichment and not enough space. For the start of the summer holiday, was expecting everything to be open and functioning by 11 in the morning, the kids rides weren't open until 2, every member of staff looked bored or... More

We did go on a rainy day, but even so the whole zoo looked tired and some how un loved. it was very expensive to enter and the staff although they were putting on a brave face seemed disinterested. Sorry Guys… we won't be going again. I do feel so sorry for the animals.

What a transformation! For anyone who visited this zoo a few years ago it was a little tired and neglected with a limited number of animals. Today I spent the day at the zoo with my grandson and it was a fabulous day. The zoo have clearly invested not only in more animals but also in new attractions and facilities.... More
