A bit tired but improvements looking good!

I last visited Dudley Zoo back in the early 70s with a school trip when it boasted polar bears and even a killer whale! To be honest not a lot has changed apart from the fact they... read more

A really fabulous day out with our little girl. The animals all looked well cared for and the enclosures mostly looked perfect for the animals kept in them. The Art Deco enclosures remain which is nice to see however probably need updating for the size of animal kept in them. I'm sure this is on the cards with all the... More

We went on a Saturday and arrived early and it was good because the place was not too busy and you could see all the animals easily. We got really close to a tiger I don't think I have ever seen one that close it was right by the glass. There are plenty of animals to see and the lemur... More

Came here today with my boyfriend for a day out, took us about 4/5 hours to see everything. (Walked 6.88 miles!) Loved it! paid £13 for an adult ticket (online is cheaper than at the gates) The place is under construction as they have been given money to do the place up. However we still seen a lot of animals... More

I last visited Dudley Zoo back in the early 70s with a school trip when it boasted polar bears and even a killer whale! To be honest not a lot has changed apart from the fact they don't have polar bears or killer whales any more! Yes the buildings are a little tired now, but the spirit remains and there... More

Been visiting the zoo for years and still enjoy our trips there. Plenty of parking in the zoo car park or in the town if you don't mind the short walk back to the zoo it goes without saying car parking charges apply. The zoo is situated on a hillside so keep this in mind if your have possible walking... More

I hate to see a zoo in this state its out of step with today's zoos Yes its money of course but two beautiful tigers in an old polar bear enclosure just not right! Lack of investment over the years its 60 years since I last visited and its no better, too small for large animals , it needs to... More

Have been to the zoo numerous times before & always booked in advance. This time we decided on a whim to go last minute, very disappointed when we got there that we was told we had to pay a donation in our entry prices, when you pay online there is an option to de select this, as a tax payer... Thought it was a nice day out but went to Stourport on Severn the week before and thought there was more to do there.

Booked online so we didn't have to queue, however you have to pay for your parking at the till so still had to queue to pay ( no option to pay for car park online) The zoo is based around the castle so the walk is very steep with quite a few steps and wouldn't recommend it suitable for the elderly... A good family day, a variety of animals, zoo is clearly being modernised but some 1930s zoo architecture remains - I quite liked it, but it didn't look great for the animals. The bears for example had nowhere to get away from the crowds looking down on their small enclosure. You can climb right up the tower of the castle,... More
