This was our first visit to Dudley Zoo and Castle and we hope to visit again when next in the area. We are members of Chester Zoo which we visit regularly and we enjoy visiting other zoo's when we can. The animals all looked fine to us, plenty of space in most enclosures. We didn't use the train or the... More

Take no notice of the negative reviews!! I took my grandchildren and they had a wonderful time, the Lemur walk-through was amazing as you are right in the compound with them. I searched the internet for vouchers (Voucher Cloud) and was able to get free child with a paying adult so it worked out very reasonable. The smallest grandchild had... More

This is a really good attraction but for value for money discount vouchers are a must! Brilliant for families with young children. If you have mobility issues or children in pushchairs getting around might be a struggle

Would recommend the zoo keeper experience for anyone with a young child who loves animals as my 10 year old does. She had a fantastic day mucking out on the farm , feeding penguins and mongoose, handling snakes, rats and lizards and going in the Tapir enclosure. Staff are very good and the zoo is improving after many years of... More

his zoo is so old fashioned and run down it should be shut down the animals show nothing but signs of stereotypical behaviours with no enrichment for them to use to prevent this its was completely depressing seeing animals which should be housed in large groups housed in threes or less and solitary animals being housed in small groups i... Needs updating! Scruffy, unpleasant and old fashioned zoo. Animals that require social groupings are kept solitary. Not enough enrichment and staff unavailable.

I went with my two boys aged 1 and 4. Despite being local, I had always been sceptical about the zoo but, finally, decided to try it out. First of all, it wasn't very expensive - I used a voucher which is widely available and it was only £14 for the three of us. We got there early to avoid... More

Sadly I can't rate this a 0. It was a complete disappointment at every animal enclosure, animals looked bored and depressed in rubbish enclosures with no enrichment whatsoever! zoo keepers were making a poor effort cleaning out the penguin bay during opening hours.. So we couldn't see them.. Great! I won't be returning to dudley zoo anytime soon and wouldn't... More

Absolutely terrible, the zoo is a mess and none of the animals look properly cared for, the enclosure are in poor condition and the animals have no enrichment. Definitely will not come back here and would not recommend this zoo to anyone.

Steeped in history with the castle bring the centre point of the zoo. Original huge cannons. Battlements, drawbridge, huge courtyard to enjoy a picnic. The zoo is a little tired but lots of environmental and conservation work being done, so we need to support it before we lose it!!!
