The ruins are from the Cluniac Priory and are the picturesque feature in the grounds of the park. The Priory was first founded by the Lord of Dudley, Gervase Paganell, in the 12th Century, and was closed by the infamous Henry VIII in the 1530's. The pools near The Priory were drained when Priory Hall was built in 1825. During the 1930's, The Priory were restored to their current form, and the grounds became a park. « less

What a delightful little park situated just outside of Dudley town centre, lovely if you are looking for a free picnic area when visiting the town or Zoo for the day  or just looking for somewhere peaceful to sit on a lazy day in the sun. There's a well kept play area for the kids and beautiful garden with pool... More

Priory park is a relaxing, well kept and pretty place located by the historic ruins of part of Dudley castle. There is a range of activities organised and the rangers keep the area in good shape. A lovely place to walk the dog or take the children on the play area.

My experiences of Priory Park with its well kept ancient ruins, well-used tennis courts and new pavilion, are all excellent facilities that are welcomed by the local public. Have heard that there are more events planned for later this year, so will be sure to return in due course.

Always a lovely green space, Priory Park has been transformed in the last year by the careful investment of improvements funding. New loos and pavillion are lavish, and well sited wooden benches make lovely paces to rest. Hedges and lawns beautifully re-layed, and highly appropriate art, such as sculptures and tiling abound. Beyond Priory hall is an even greener space... More

Well looked after park and ruins, well worth a visit. We walk around every morning with our dog (cleaning up after her if needed as we go) Staff are friendly and always tidying or gardening. Look for yourself.

As I used to like on the Priory Estarte, Priory Park was only a few minutes away, we used to play on the Ruins when we were young, but they have been fenced off now to protect them, spent many happy hours on this park, also we used to be able to play tennis on the courts for a few... More
