Beautiful scenery surrounds the whole area. It's not only tranquil and offers peace in an area of outstanding beauty but also a chance to trek in nature

We love the Trough. Beautiful unspoilt countryside. Just park up the car and the kids play in the streams and river. Only thing is warm weather is preferable.

What a wonderful trip a drive through the ToB is! Especially now that the heather's in flower. Unspoilt countryside, well cared for without being manicured and delightful driving country. Fill up with petrol before venturing far off the main roads though!

glorious scenery. Peace and quiet, great walks. The car parking centres are reasonably priced and facilities in most of the villages are good. Access from the M6 is OK with some beautiful drives around the area.

Stunning unspoilt scenery, winding roads through natural untouched countryside, stop at the Inn at Whitewell for a coffee and enjoy what must be on the best country landscapes in the kingdom.

Lovely scenery and great walk, quite country roads in this hidden gem of the British countryside. Really enjoyed our view days walking our Springer Spaniel in the area

Great route across from Clitheroe to Lancaster avoiding the motorway if you have a little bit of extra time to enjoy the drive. Lovely scenery and moorland. Some quite stark features coming down to the Trough itself which is very pretty. Narrow roads!

We went in the mid-week and took our friends from Wales, just to show them the Lancashire hillside. We visited Dunsop bridge and stopped for a picnic. There is plenty of car carking and public toilets there. A nice walking area and the river with grass and hungry ducks-so take some bread if you visit. There is an ice cream... More
