As you approach Dunsop Bridge take a left just on a right hand bend and just follow your nose and ponder on the fact that this was the road that the Pendle witches trod to meet their fate at Lancaster. It is best to visit several times in a year to enjoy the changes brought by the seasons e.g. the... More

The road is from South of lancaster heading towards clitheroe (not really skipton) but you need map or satnav. Spectacular views and bird life. Take a picnic or head for the Inn at Whitewell - good food atmosphere and own wine shop. Or divert to Slaidburn to The Hark to Bounty for lovely old pub with food in pretty village... More

The hills are amazing and in Autumn, look for the changing rusty colours of the moors mixed with the purple heather. Walking routes are opening up these days, but... More

If you have not been to this area you absolutely must. Some of the best driving roads I have encountered. Either in this country or abroad.

I grew up being taken to 'the Trough' on Sunday outings, then took my kids and now take g.daughter. it is simply a road through a pretty valley with a stream for kids to paddle in and places to park and picnic. in one spot you may find an ice cream van, otherwise it is simply a beauty spot. one... This to mess the most beautiful rugged place. I'm pleased to call it home, and love the solitude and the views in winter or summer.
