Stunning, a view unchanged.

You can walk for miles and not see a soul, wonderful spot for a picnic, walk or just breathing the air, tis like fine wine.

Going to Lancaster University many moons ago, Bowland was one of the colleges and its bar was called the Trough of Bowland. Having never been we decided when going back to where we met we'd drive through the Trough. It was lovely. Beautiful countryside, very unspoilt. Places to stop to have a picnic, but you'll need to bring your own... More

If you read about the witches of Pendleton you need to come here. But remember you will have to hike. If it is raining, forget it. Nice forest. Be prepared to hike. Consult the city's website for more info and routes. While driving be careful with the sheeps!

A place so like the moors or England that I've read about. Totally unlike an Australian landscape and for that reason totally English. The weather was wet, but that also seems appropriate for the place. In a word 'wonderful', exactly what English country should be like.

If you're a fan of the countryside and great views on sunny days then a drive or even a walk through the TOB is highly recommended.

It's a lovely picturesque place and you might be mistaken that you are in an Italian Valley or even driving through a lush Caribean Island . If green surroundings and miles of open space lifts your mood then it's well worth going to.

Wonderfull free area very pretty , almost deserves national park status , very rural , lots of small villages with farm shops etc. Few big atractions but there are plenty around lancaster the historic heart of lancashire. The wild boar park is probably the best

As you approach Dunsop Bridge take a left just on a right hand bend and just follow your nose and ponder on the fact that this was the road that the Pendle witches trod to meet their fate at Lancaster. It is best to visit several times in a year to enjoy the changes brought by the seasons e.g. the... More
