I may be a little bias as I am from the area but I Love this museum. The ground floor changes its exhibits but the upper floor remains the same. Its got some great local history and is good for all ages. Please visit if you go to Lancaster its well worth an hour of your time.

Though this museum is only small, the building, the exhibitions and the interactive experience was fantastic. The staff were knowledgeable and the exhibit on the bog burial was fascinating. All-in-all, great for a quick visit!

Free entry and in the town centre so it's worth a visit when shopping or visiting the Castle, 200 yards away. Lots of local history

Good museum particularly of the local regiment and it's history through several centuries and wars. Friendly knowledgable staff

The museum tells the story of Lancaster in a great way - very interesting exhibits and also a trail to follow for the kids for a bit of extra entertainment. There's a rather good photo exhibition on downstairs at the moment. Well worth the visit!

A great well presented Museum with lots of relevant information. Most history is shown through tableaux and lots of exhibits. The Military part of the building is one of the best I have ever visited. Called the Kings Own Royal Regiment Museum it details the hundreds of years of its history with lots of exhibits. I really enjoyed it

I love museums, my partner wanted to carry on but i dragged him in and was pleasantly surprised, the stair case itself is impressive and all the memorabilia was very good. I was interested in the casket found locally and would suggest people pop in you will be pleasantly surprised

Called to see when Christmas shopping. Really interesting Military museum upstairs with loads of stuff to see. Enjoyed the local history section, plenty of things to see donated by locals. Well worth a visit

After lunch today , I visited the Lancaster City Museum . As far as museums go , this one is quite small , however it is well worth a visit for an hour or so . I particularly liked the Regimental Museum , which is upstairs . It contains a treasure trove of items relating to military life in years... More

its a shame that the inside of the building doesn't live up to the outside. Architecturally the museum is very impressive but the layout needs looking at and the reception area is confusing and if I'm honest not very welcoming. No guidebook, no staff to really help. No toilets. If the council invested some time and money the city museum... More
