I was given a preview today of the Bird House, which is officially opening tomorrow. (August 23rd). The new attraction is a walk-through aviary. The whole area is split into zones, giving a mini-Africa experience. It is a lovely addition to this wonderful garden centre and I can see it growing into a much larger aviary than it is setting... Visited Akamba Garden Centre come Restaurant with my family on 16th august for lunch after hearing rave reviews from friends. I lived in solihull for 18 years and was not aware that the place existed. Great atmosphere, would be good to sit outside for an evening drink. The inside restaurant was superb, would be a great venue for a wedding... More

Hello, thank you very much for your review, it has helped us a great deal in identifying some of the problems with our website. We will be building a petting corner in the future, however in the photo gallery section of the website it looks like we already have one - I will make sure these pictures are removed, to... More

Hello thank you for your review. Really sorry to hear we let you down on the food and service, as most of the menu food is cooked fresh, on a busy day it can take a while. Really pleased to hear you enjoyed the surroundings and we look forward to offering you a superior service on your next visit. Asante... More

On a sunny day, with the music playing, and sitting amongst the bamboo and other plants while looking at giraffes, elephants, crocodiles, gorillas - sorry not living but very life like - you can really think you are a long way from Birmingham and in Paradise. The food is excellent but on a busy day you must be patient as... More

Visited last weekend, very disappointed, not sure what the attraction really is, As a garden centre the plants don’t appear to be well kept and in poor condition for sale. Took a look with a view to taking my elderly parent who is in a wheelchair. It would be almost impossible to get around on the gravel paths and very... More

Hello, thank you for your review, I hope I can clarify a few points for you. I think you will find that the vast majority of garden centres have a restaurant, which also sells alcohol - we do it just a little differently thats all, we try to offer a unique service, a little different from the norm. All our... More

This could be replicated and incredibly success in so many place across the world. What a great idea! You are near to Birmingham but feels like Africa! It has lots of exotic plants and huge metal animals everywhere. Music and seating etc just adds to its African feel. We went on a sunny day so it was very busy, that... More

This is the best garden center ever. With seating in the planting, caribbean food, events and a bar, what more could you want. Visit now you won't be disappointed. Great to take overseas visitors for an experience liek no other

Great garden centre if you wish to entertain toddlers, plants where nothing out of the ordinary and food was very poor quality and flavour. African curry - Curry powder from Tesco is more exciting, baked sweet potato was cold mash with grated cheese on the top and had never been in the oven, take the kids but eat elsewhere.

Not only is this a completely individual garden centre it's a excellent night out. With the buffet style African food you will not go home empty. Good beer and wine and the entertainment really makes it we have seen reggae tribute acts here and we all enjoyed it. With the added fire show it is value for money and worth... More
