Nice day out

Me, family and friends went there we didn't expect it to be peace and calm atmosphere. We all really enjoyed. They also have a bar which I didn't miss my drinks

Amazing venue. would not believe that it was in Solihull. Plants figures so original certainly worth a visit if you are in the area

Great service today, thank you. First visit and loved it. Me and hubby felt like we were miles away from our day to day lives, a little escape for a few hours. Can imagine it like another place in the summer, however winter is a good time to go due to it being quiet . Will be back and we... More

Lovely little garden centre, with various African animals dotted around made of metal. My two children wanted their photo taken next to most of the life size animals. Wonderfully unusual place to visit. We had lunch here, which was very filling and delicious (cannot comment on price as my parents paid!) Would go back

Went to 'Magical Motown' (billed as a 'party full of Motown, R&B and Soul'). We had a fabulous night and it was a great party. But...... where was the Motown music. There was no Diana Ross & the Supremes, no Four Tops, Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, no Marvin Gaye, Temptations, Martha and the Vandellas, Gladys Knight & the Pips etc.... More

lovely setting hidden from the hustle and bustle of Birmingham/Solihull. Nice surroundings brining to life the african scene... service could be better... train your staff better to offer a more professional service - overall customer service skill was a little poor. Food... i only had a tuna melt wrap... was soggy and served on a very small plate! presentation is... More

Went to Akamba on a recommendation. Fun and interesting place to visit with some interesting African art on show and for sale. We ate there for lunch and were a little disappointed. We arrived and the place wasn't that busy there were no staff to seat us. We ordered food and drinks and whilst the drinks took some time to... More

Akamba started life at Acocks Green in Birmingham as a garden centre selling reasonably priced plants and some African artefacts. At Dickens Heath Solihull the sale of plants has been overshadowed by the steel zoo, aviary, sale of African arts and crafts and the restaurant. It is a good family attraction, however the standard of food in the restaurant can... More

Been there a few times, but won't return ever again. I used to enjoy going for a Swahili coffee and a piece of carrot cake - maybe the odd lunch. But my last visit, was definitely the last. Overpriced, small portions of food, backed with a sergeant major who follows you whilst browsing in the curio shop ... as if... More

Hello, really sorry we have let you down. The portions are not normally small but I will look into it and ask the chefs about this. As for the sergeant major in the shop I know exactly who she is and she will be getting some intensive training ( boot camp so to speak) - otherwise she will be getting... More
