Something for everyone if you wander through the galleries. liked the JPanese collection, children would like the teddy bears and Lady Godiva on her horse. interesting pictures and just a nice feel to the whole place.

I went back and forth between 3 and 4 as a rating. When I visited this museum, I was pleasantly surprised to find out it is free. It had not been on my list of things to do on vacation, but came across it while out walking with my friend (who has recently moved to Maidstone and did not know... More

a variety of objects and art, the actual building is beautiful and historic the staff are quite rude and unenthusiastic but for a free museum its good. The gift shop is quite small but when we went they were refurbing some of the museum and moving pieces about so some of it was shut off unfortunately!

This was a brilliantly produced and presented exhibition immensely enjoyed by my wife and I, and especially, by our four year old grandson who had such a good time painting his own dinosaur money box and picking out two books that were such a mine of information on his favourite subject at that time!

In so many towns the local museum is a dated former civic building with a few rooms of dusty and dated displays, maidstone museum is much more than this. The museum houses natunally and internationally important collections from natural history to clothes and shows them in a dynamic akin to national museums in the cities. If you are in town... More

I have lived in Maidstone all my life and have never visited this museum. I was not dissappointed. The collection of stuffed birds and animals is amazing. The whole experience was great and one of the best reasons to visit?........Its FREE to visit. Apart from the museum if you like looking at old buildings you will be in heaven. Even... More

Having lived in Maidstone since 1997 it was the first time I have been here, the building is lovely (well the historic bit), the new part is just plain ugly on the outside, heyho, that's planners for you. Nonetheless, the exhibits are accessible, just so dated, the dinosaur part is actually really informative yet for something so significant in Maidstone's... More

We were wondering around Maidstone as we had time to spare and came across this Museum. It was free of charge for entry and was absolutely fantastic; I find sometimes these free events/shows can be a little disappointing from the point of view that generally if it’s free they haven’t got the money to buy the artefacts. However this had... More

If you are in Maidstone then you must not miss this wonderful little gem of a Museum. So many interesting exhibits that you can easily spend a good few hours in here. It is very child friendly and fantastic value as it is free admission. Nice little cafe inside as well. A must in the School holidays.

Hey! If you have never visited then I highly recommend you do so. From the facilities to the exhibits you will enjoy, something for all ages and interests. I have worked with medway council and english heritage and found the museum a refreshing place to spend the day. Well done Maidstone! Dave J.
