The core building is a manor house that has been extended over the centuries, so the juxtaposition of archtecture from various periods is interesting in itself and the contents are as interesting as the box, which isn't always the case with smaller museums. The regimental gallery is thoughtfully and logically arranged, telling... More

My children love a wander around the museum, certainly looking around the dinosaurs, dressing up and all the old war medals and history of Maidstone. Its a must to go and see the Egyptian mummy always provokes a comment or two, go during half terms and they normally have an activity on at a small cost but it books out... More

The last time I visited the Museum was with my own children over 25 years ago. I visited last Satuday with my son and 2 granddaughters aged 4 years and 7 months and it was a very different and relaxing visit. The staff were so very helpful and noticed we were pushing the buggy around the ground floor and pointed... More

The Cannon cart is worth it! Should not take more than an hour or two to visit this place. If you are after Dinosaurs there's more literature than actual stuff to see here - London Natural History or Science Museum will be a better bet!

Glad to hear you enjoyed your visit and the Canno cart. Maidstone's very own Iguandon, found in a local quarry in 1834 is actually at the Natural History Museum where they have a bit more space than us. More
