Visited the museum for the first time today and thought it was great. I was a bit worried about paying £22 for my family of 4 to get in and be in and out within half an hour but there was loads to do and kids really enjoyed it and learnt a lot. All of the helpers were excellent and... More

I've never been anywhere quite like this. There's a great range of historic things to look at, from toys to travel and everything in between. The old high street is great, really makes you think about what life was like...

Thanks very much for taking the time to review your visit and we are so glad you found us 'unique'. Come back during our Victorian weekend later this year and you'll find the shops all staffed and beer flowing in the pub :) More

A cracking local museum which helps dispel the myth that Milton Keynes has no history. We went for a family day out for birthdays with an age range from 2-82. The whole family had a great day out. The old house is still set out as it would have been 100 years ago, and you can sit in an old... More

Fantastic review Alex, thanks. We're used to welcoming three or four generations in one group, but 14 of you going round was quite a sight.Really grateful to you for telling others how much you enjoyed your visit. More

Lovely review! Thank you so much for taking the time to write about your visit and tell others to come. Our free entry days are during the Heritage Open Days programme every September and you can find dates on the website. The rest of the year we do charge a small fee for entry - but no extra for the... More

Great attraction with a fly over from the BBMF. The Lyon's tea room is worth a visit for tea and cake and the Granary tea room for nice fresh sandwiches. Great value as not only do you get the 1940's re-enactors and exhibits but you also get to go around the normal museum exhibits as well.

Hi LEWMK1 and thank you for your review of our 40s weekend. It's one of our most popular events and seems to attract more people every year - as well as more stalls and entertainment on top of all the Museum's usual attractions. We are just putting together our events calendar for 2015 so there;ll soon be more information and... More

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. When we went they were serving mulled wine for everyone. It was very busy but still enjoyable

Visited on the Saturday before Christmas with my two children (2 and 4 years old)their the two cousins and grandparents. So much to do we were there for four hours and the kids did not want to go home. Mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, hands-on exhibits….. Excellent!

Thank you for reviewing us James. We always especially enjoying welcoming three generations at one go to the Museum, and how it gives the older generations a chance to share some of their own childhoods with the youngest. We hope you all have a very happy Christmas, and we can welcome the children back to have another go at everything... More

This museum was a little gem to find with lots of hands on things to look and touch. To anyone who likes museums and to look at the past then this is a great day out for all of the family. The staff are very friendly too.

Having never visited the museum before despite living in Milton Keynes, I took the opportunity to take my 4 year old daughter to see Santa and the Victorian Christmas. The museum was great, so much to see and they encourage you to be interactive with the displays. We loved the telecoms room, the shopping street and the toy display. Having... More

Don't try asking the locals for directions, I did and got blank looks! This is a surprisingly good museum in two areas, local life (including what was there before the new city) and also the history of Telecommunications. The now regionalised BT museum collection has an outpost here. But one thing sets the place out on its own. You may... More

Great suggestion! We'd not come across this poem before but wonder if the snowman's creator,Liz Leyh (who also made the concrete cows) did know it? Thanks for taking the time to write a review, and for introducing us to the poem. More
