Grandma lives in Milton Keynes, and on probably about one visit to her each year we all toddle along to the Milton Keynes museum. I'd say it's the best museum that we've been to in terms of "hands on" stuff. Think "museum", and you might think stuffy under-glass exhibits with boring blurb. Not so at all at MK museum. You... Thank you, thank you Jon for such a full and positive review of your visit. We could have written it ourselves! So pleased (in the nicest possible way) that your children had to be dragged from the new Connected earth gallery, and that we can expect a return visit from you and your family in a year or so's time.... Street of shops is particularly good as well as railway exhibit. Laid out in several buildings. Lots of places to see and nice cafe on site as well

Myself, my daughter, daughter in law and 4 granddaughters visited Milton Keynes Museum today and it was great fun. All the exhibits were very interesting and the volunteer staff were very helpful and friendly, taking time to explain the history of everything. We particularly enjoyed the Telephone museum which has recently been moved to a much larger building and displays... More

It sounds like you all had a great time in the Connected Earth gallery! Thank you very much for going to the time and trouble of writing a review. It's lovely to be able to share with our volunteers how much they are appreciated by visitors. Hope you will all want to come back and see us again. More

Give yourself plenty of time to visit this gem in MK. £22 for 2 adults & 4 children is a bargain. The exhibits are crammed in, many things interactive & volunteer guides are, without exception, friendly & knowledgeable. Even the shop sold relevant souvenirs at proper prices - not the rip-off of other attractions we've visited. Play with old musical... More

We have lived in Milton Keynes for over 20 years and always intended to visit the museum. Today, we finally did, and it was an excellent way to spend a couple of hours. We particularly liked the street of reconstructed shops, and the transport shed, but there was much of interest throughout, rounded off by extremely good value sandwiches and... More

I love MK MUseum and so do my 3 children. I love the fact that the exhibits aren't hidden behind glass or ropes..i hope it stays this way as this is what makes it so fantastic. The telephone room is genius. We go back time and time again and find something new every time. Big thanks to all the volunteers... More

A Museum that is always changing with something new to see every time you go. 1940's weekend is a must see attraction which seems to get bigger every year.

How pleased we were that a stormy Sunday meant we used my sat nav for suggestions under "Museums". All the exhibits are under cover and begin with a Victorian farmhouse, moving on to a Victorian Street of shops that bring the period alive. There is modern history with a telecommunications exhibit and another building for transportation. The cafe/tea room is... More

Well done satnav for finding us, and well done you for thinking to ask it for somewhere to visit on a wet afternoon. We're really grateful for such a lovely review and are glad you enjoyed your trip. And we promise if you come back and see us on a sunny day you'll find plenty to do as well :) More

We choose to visit Milton Keynes this afternoon as the weather was not looking great. We were so glad we did. After waiting in the car for the hail storm to blow over we found ourselves in a lovely welcoming and fascinating museum. Full of interesting artefacts which we were encouraged to touch and play with, including a pianola and... More

Thanks for coming from Toddington to see us, and thank you so much for writing such a lovely review. We're so pleased you enjoyed playing old-style games in the Parlour, and that the Victoria sponge hit the spot. We hope you'll come and see us again soon - we think you'd enjoy our Victorian Christmas event. More

We've been coming here since our children were young and now have been lots of times with our grandchildren! We couldn't get out children away from the phones in the old shed they used to be in, now we can't get the grandkids out of the new modern room they inhabit! This museum is mostly hands-on, with everything from a... More

What can we say Janet? Sorry you've had such trouble prising the children - and now the grandchildren - out of our Connected Earth gallery.
