We had been told about Milton Keynes Museum so decided to go on the open day. It was excellent. Clean reception area and friendly staff. You go in the Museum through the old farm house it's amazing what it contains. Rooms full of objects from the past e.g toys, instruments and machinery. The Victorian school room where children can be... More

We enjoyed our first visit to the Milton Keynes Museum very much! Very friendly, knowlegeable staff who enjoyed a chat. Lots to see & we especially enjoyed the communication department! A little pricey to get in but the Tea shop made up for this! Delicious home made sandwiches & cakes at a very fair price. We would definitely recommend!

Hi Janet, and thanks very much for taking the time to post a review here. It's so helpful for us and lovely for our volunteers too. We're so glad you and the youngsters enjoyed yourselves and thanks for permission to use that great picture of them in the farming gallery! We appreciate many of our visitors are on tight budgets... Having driven past this place for years I finally decided to visit and wow what a hidden treasure. OK the entrance fee stuck in the throat a bit being £7.50 per adult (personally i feel a fiver would be more suitable considering other places I have visited)...but leaving my little grumble aside I had a thoroughly great time. Today was... More

Thanks for taking the time to write such a full review Simon, and for the five star rating. Thanks too for your suggestion on how to enable more people to enjoy the music and dancing. It really helps to hear ideas and feedback. Sorry you balked a little at the entrance fee. We try to keep the prices as low... More

We visited here today after looking for somewhere to take our children despite the rain. We saw the reviews and decided to give it a go as it is on our doorstep. It's fantastic! Our boys, 4 and 5 yrs old, had a great time. They pretended to be at school in the Victorian classroom, played with toys in the... More

Thank you for taking the time to review us and for telling others how much you enjoyed your visit! We're so glad the visit was a success, especially with the youngsters - seems like we have the rain to thank so the Bank Holiday weather wasn't all bad :) It means a lot to us when people take the time... This musuem is little know and as I drive for the community whenever I go back to the office I mention this place as well worth a visit. There are many rooms of interest from the main house at the start to the delightful cafe at the end before going to see the transport section. It is wheel chair friendly... More

Grandma lives in Milton Keynes, and on probably about one visit to her each year we all toddle along to the Milton Keynes museum. I'd say it's the best museum that we've been to in terms of "hands on" stuff. Think "museum", and you might think stuffy under-glass exhibits with boring blurb. Not so at all at MK museum. You... Thank you, thank you Jon for such a full and positive review of your visit. We could have written it ourselves! So pleased (in the nicest possible way) that your children had to be dragged from the new Connected earth gallery, and that we can expect a return visit from you and your family in a year or so's time.... Myself, my daughter, daughter in law and 4 granddaughters visited Milton Keynes Museum today and it was great fun. All the exhibits were very interesting and the volunteer staff were very helpful and friendly, taking time to explain the history of everything. We particularly enjoyed the Telephone museum which has recently been moved to a much larger building and displays... More

Give yourself plenty of time to visit this gem in MK. £22 for 2 adults & 4 children is a bargain. The exhibits are crammed in, many things interactive & volunteer guides are, without exception, friendly & knowledgeable. Even the shop sold relevant souvenirs at proper prices - not the rip-off of other attractions we've visited. Play with old musical... More
