Great museum for families. Interactive and interesting for our girls 10 and 13 who not into museums. Reasonably priced. Go visit.

I visited with my family recently and was very disappointed, firstly I found the reception staff rude, she was talking to a couple having general chit chat and could see we were waiting with small children who were restless however completely ignored us for over 10 minutes, I thought it would be polite to acknowledge our presence but this did... Hi Suzanna, it sounds like your visit got off to a really bad start and I can understand your upset at having to wait for so long to be served. I'm not sure why that happened as the volunteers who work on our reception desk are lovely, and work hard to welcome visitors. It is also really disappointing to hear... More

I took the family here (2 girls under 5) for a history enactment event they were doing and thought we would just see some crazy vikings then go, but there was loads to do so we were there all day. As there were loads of interactive displays the girls were interested as well (they were slight confused by why phones... More

Thanks for your lovely review Ryan and we're so happy to hear that you and the girls enjoyed the History Festival. We were a bit down on numbers of re-enactors this year so it's especially good to know you were occupied for a whole day - even if some of that was spent eating cake ;) More

What a gem ! Reasonably priced and wonderful for children and adults alike. We have been going the past few years and it has such a Victorian feel ! Mulled wine and carols in the drawing room, a little school room with activities. A bomb shelter experience Nd so much more ! Great santa with really decent presents ! A... More

Hi Saskia, and thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. Christmas is definitely one of our favourite times at the museum too, but if you especially like the Victorian aspects of what we do then we think you'd really enjoy our Victorian weekend, coming up in July and it's completely new this year. There are... More

Having lived in Milton Keynes for 37yrs, I have visited the museum with both my own children and now my grandchildren. It is a lovely little piece of history that stirs a lot of memories of things from your own childhood. Lots of interaction available, and helpful, informative staff. Different rooms represent a classroom, a kitchen, and a street scene... More

I've been to the museum several times and it just seems to get better each time. I would highly recommend it to any parents and grandparents.

As a couple in our 20s we were dubious of what we assumed was a museum for families having anything to entertain us, but decided to give it a try one Saturday morning since it was just round the corner from our new flat. As it turned out, we were very well catered for with the friendly volunteers giving us... More

Hi Benedict and a big thank you for pointing out that there is plenty in the museum for 20 year olds too! We're glad you enjoyed your visit and wish you all the very best in your new flat. Whenever the museum is open to are welcome to just come in and use the teashop :) More

Visited today with my son and nephew both aged 6 to break up the journey from the Midlands to Essex and we were not disappointed. The museum is split into a Victorian house, a Victorian school room and blacksmiths, an early 20th century shopping parade, a telecommunication equipment hall and transport hall. In each area are hands on working exhibits... More

There's lots to see and do for people of all ages here. The exhibits vary in how "hands-on" they are, but most encourage you to have a go with things. Echoing what others have said, we spent about 4 hours there in total, including a visit to the tea room where they have a large selection of very tasty looking... More

So glad you enjoyed your visit and thank you very much for taking the time to review it and tell others. We especially enjoyed reading what you had to say about ticket prices: we do appreciate money is tight for many people at the moment so it's great that you found us 'well worth it'. More
