the day was just ok, well I say day 2 hours tops, for the price you pay I would rather pay a bit more and go to the zoo and know you are getting a full day out, the pens the animals are kept in need a serious look at some were frankly dangerous around the lambs and goats with... More

I took my two year old on Sept 3rd and we had an excellent afternoon. There was plenty to see and do with the cow milking and pets corner being the highlights of the visit. My boy loved feeding the lambs, goats and calfs and holding chicks and baby rabbits. The two baby pigs roaming round free were also a... More

We visited the farm randomly on an overcast day in August and had a brilliant day out. The entrance fee was £7 per adult which I initially thought was expensive but when you see what you get compared to other smaller farms, was well worth it. We started with a walk through the large shed to feed the lama and... More

Took my nephews here (4 and 1), with my mum and we all had a lovely day. There's plenty to do and the farm is well laid out. The animals are clean, happy and well cared for (the little pig wondering round is so cute!), lots and lots of critters to see; there is a reptile part, as well as... More

We have been to Smithills Open Farm a couple of times in the past two months and we have enjoyed it immensely. In fact the first time we went we liked it so much we booked our daughters 3rd birthday party. There are looks of bouncy castles for the kids to expend energy on, before the serious bit of feeding... We visit the farm as a small nursery group of 14 children and 3 adults. We where greeted at the gate and taken straight to our picnic area where we could leave our bags. We where then meeting by our guide who told us about all the exciting things they had in stall for us. First we had donkey rides... More

Just had a lovely day at Smithills farm with my 21 year old Daughter and 7 year old Grandaughter and I don't know which one of us had the most fun! Someone actually made a comment on here saying that it smelled and there was no hand sanitisers. Firstly, this is a working farm full of animals....what do you expect.... More

We visited Smithhills Open Farm just after lunch time. At under £30.00 for a family of 4 and free car parking we thought it was very good value for money. You had to pay £1 for donkey rides and £1 for a tractor ride, which again is great value. Bags of food for the animals were just .50p, so there... More

I visited the farm on a sunny day with my 2 nephews, aged 8 and 3. I thought the price was about right compared to other venues. The animals were well cared for. The pets corner was great with a chance to feed the lambs and goats and get hands on with other animals. I found the cafe a little... More
