Really good considering it's free!

Lots to see here, enough to keep children amused for an hour or so and definitely plenty for the interested adult. When we went one of the galleries was closed but if it had been... read more

While shopping in Bolton center my partner and I stumbled across the Museum and decided to have a little look inside. Entry is free and there is plenty to look at and learn about, photography, footballers, even games consoles! Although the major highlight for myself was the full size dinosaur fossil in the foyer! While walking through the first side... More

Lots to see here, enough to keep children amused for an hour or so and definitely plenty for the interested adult. When we went one of the galleries was closed but if it had been open our total visit time would have been over 2 hours and my son is only 1 1/2. Considering there is no entrance charge this... More

If you want to visit a traditional museum packed full of exhibits, works of art and a specialist Egyptology gallery then call here. In the town centre behind the town hall, easy to find. One of a handful of museums with an aquarium, one which breeds rare fish and is highly regarded. Good shop, regular temporary exhibitions, helpful staff 10/10

As our town hall is currently under going a revamp, the 'one stop shop' for council services, is currently in the libbery, this has it's self been updated, I wasn't at all sure of it at first, but it has grown on me, it's bright and modern, and the staff friendly and available when you need them, the museum part... This is a very good museum for all ages, we took our 2 year old grandson there, and although only small loved it, aquarium not much, but dinosaurs and other stuff is great, and its free, well worth a visit.

We decided to pop down one afternoon after moving to the area. The building is stunning, as is the town hall near by. The entrance is grand with marble spiral staircases leasing down to the aquarium, and up to the museum, gallery and archives. Ground floor is home to the library. The aquarium, while being quite small, is intimate more... More

I visited Bolton Museum & didn't disappoint, it has plenty of educational history worldwide, and interesting facts. It also has a lovely aquarium, with facts of the aquatic life. It's defiantly worth a visit, great for all ages.

We frequently visit the Library and especially the Aquarium as my daughter loves watching the fish being fed. Upstairs is a great museum with a lot to see and the hours slip away.
