Took the 6hr Manchester to Liverpool cruise by Mersey Ferries. Was a great day out. Although it takes 6 hours, you see some interesting sights and hear the history as you go along and it didn't feel like such a long journey. There's hot & cold food, soft drinks & alcohol available throughout, which is tasty & reasonably priced. When... More

Yes we enjoyed the experience overall but ,although it couldn't be helped that the weather was cold,I do think there were not enough seats, enough cover inside and poor views if you wanted to stay on the lower deck where there was more comfortable seating and it was warmer. We are fit and able but some people who weren't were really struggling... Fantastic and novel way to see Liverpool and Salford Quays and the places along the canal in between. Saw some great sights including the Stanlow Oil Refinery, abandoned churches, numerous amazing bridges, an aqueduct and lots of wildlife. The nice lady doing the commentary made the trip for me as she was very knowledgeable and helped us understand our surroundings.... More

Booked this for my mum and went with her. We travelled from Manchester to Liverpool on one of the coldest August days I can remember - wear layers ! A large part of the boat is under cover but you will need a rain coat wherever you are seated. A slow wander along the Manchester ship canal with a very... More

The best was the channels inland which house barge boats which people and rent or live on. Sort od a trailer park in the ware. Something I had never see.
