Went for a morning wander with the kids as we wanted something to do local that was free. I heard Stanton was good, having done most other local parks. walks, etc. thought we'd give it a whirl. NOT disspapointed. OK, so the board in farm car park had events leaflet and maybe I feel could have had maps for people... More

We have been coming to Stanton Park for years (I even went into labour here!) and I now bring my toddler to explore. We love looking for wildlife and regularly see squirrels, sheep, swans and ducks and we were really lucky to see a hedgehog too. I read a few reviews where people complained about the mud. It's an lake.... More

Stanton Park is a delightful wooded park just East of Swindon. There is plenty of parking and lots of varied long walks through the woods and around the lakes. It also has a large apiary with very informed custodians. There aren't any areas for refreshments, so bring along your own supplies. There are toilets near the carpark.

My partner, on a sunny afternoon, took me on a 'mystery tour' as she often does and we 'ended up' after a fish and chip lunch, at Stanton Park, only a 'short trip' away from home, but neverthe less, had never previously visited. I am unable to walk too far a distance, but during that time was amazed by the... More

Good walk on a solid path suitable for wheelchairs which leads round the lake. Longer walks possible and very enjoyable stroll to link to Woodland walk by the Crematorium. Toilets available by car park. No playground for children. Plenty of space for dogs and a very good place for birdwatching. A large redwood and a lilypond. Character changes during the... More

Lived in Swindon for many years but only recently visited this lovely park. Quite a few walks ,very tidy and well kept with the very nice Stanton House Hotel in the grounds which is handy if you need refreshments.

Just up the road from us but hidden away is this delightful little lake. No park which would benefit so more for strolls and walking dogs. Only part is path so not suitable for bikes and scooters for kids. You doo need willies and the woodland has a thick canopy so no light getting through to dry it. Saying that,... More

Stanton park is a lake with a track around it , nice to have a walk or ride on a bicycle around the area . Part of the lake is in a wooded area which can be a bit muddy after a rainy day. There are plenty of ducks to feed . The car park is quite large and there... More

A beautiful spot for a walk in a country park devoid of playground equipment and fast food! (all fine in the right context!) Multiple habitats including grassland, woodland and a lake occupied by swans and various ducks. Birdsong accompanies you as you walk on the pathways (or venture off them to explore!) which enable you to explore this lovely space.... More
