The house is a little gem. There is also a walled garden. « less

Run by Swindon Borough Council, I took National Trust members here and we were not expecting overmuch. However the house is charming and there are some interesting exhibitions and furnitures including an amazing desk that folds away. Be sure to ask at the desk on the way out for the key to the church next door to complete your visit... More

Visited for the first time today! Took my 5 and 3 year old. The park is a complete surprise, huge open spaces, lovely play area suitable for toddlers upwards. Lots of places to walk dogs if you have one. We visited the cafe which was reasonably priced. Other food was nice too. I hate public toilets and these weren't great,... More

A beautiful park with a manor house at the centre. Didn't have time for the house on this visit but will return. Excellent light lunch at the stables café and walks through the well maintained park and woodlands.

This place is simply amazing. Gorgeous grounds, one of the best playgrounds I have ever been to - and even better, it's all free! You don't even have to pay to park. There's a cafe next to the playground if you want food or drinks and the prices are really reasonable. We've just moved to Wiltshire and I feel very... More

So we made the mistake of booking a conference here....arrived and asked where the screen was, member of staff pointed to the floor said it's there and walked off. Battled to set it up but sunlight meant not visible asked another member of staff about blinds as they had been taken down. She said she would sort it out....did not see... More

Had a lovely day out here while staying nearby. Fantastic parkland, and wonderful old stately home and church and gardens to walk round. Very family friendly, especially in the house, which is unusual. A reasonable price too, unlike the NT owned experience!!

A nice visit. Good walks, bike rides and views. Nice new kids play park, plenty of parking and picnic areas. BBQ's can be hired and large areas to play / run around in. All clean, kept lovely. A nice place to visit if local or visiting Swindon for a period of time.

No entry fee to the grounds or parking so can park close and take picnic stuff, chairs, blankets etc into the grounds for a budget day out overlooking the lake. You can also hire bar b qs. Great place for spotting dog breeds too !! as many take their dogs for a run here. (most are responsible dog owners but... More
