Visited here with a friend whilst spending the weekend in Harrogate. We were looking for a decent bar to spend the evening in and saw the had a live band on. We also booked for food (see separate review) the place was packed and we had an excellent time.

Six blokes average age 50+ mixed with sixth formers, rockers and trendy young things it's should work, but it did? Order at the bar and a human chain of hands deliver the pints to your table. Atmosphere, atmosphere atmosphere are a clue to what was a great night. The pensioner who sang with his tremendous band (every Wednesday) was superb,... More

Visited this place with colleagues when in Harrogate for a conference. Place was unfriendly especially the landlady and landlord. Don't bother going.

Dear Madam, In light of this weeks activities I am a little skeptic whether you have actually visited our pub.. If you had of visited our premises you would of know that the Landlady Sharon and Landlord Simon don't actually work there. We have a huge team and probably the most welcoming place on the planet. Take a look at... More

Stumbled across this bar whilst having a late wander. It was a Monday eve and there were a few artistes having a play, sessions were informal and fun with a good vibe to the place.

Read beyond my opinion if you're looking for a lively weekend joint in Harrogate, this place won't disappoint. Shame I was made a pariah for having the temerity for wanting to pay with Amex. I don't mind a simple "no" to taking Amex, but the three tier shakedown (barman then barlady and another barman!) was a bit OTT. Put in... More

Attended this place on Saturday night. It's a small place downstairs with a live band on. Place was buzzing. Amazing atmosphere. Cramped but excellent experience. Had a pint of beer from York Breweries which was very good. Pub offers several real ales. Live music every Wednesday and Saturday. Well worth a visit.

If you like live music, particularly blues, then you have to visit here. It's small, seats are at a premium. There is plenty of choice of different beers. It gets crowded, and hot, but it all adds to the atmosphere. Tried a few places in Harrogate, this was my favourite.

The Blues Bar has for many years been the music venue in Harrogate. It's very small, so small the stage takes 1/4 of the bar ! But it's all the better for it, it had live music every day and during the day as well on Sunday's mostly by Jed Thomas, but it's the evening entertainment that's great, they have... More
