Welcome to beautiful Harrogate. The Pinewoods, Valley Gardens and Harlow Carr Gardens offer wildlife and views to die for. With Bettys restaurant for scrumptious food and fantastic views from Crag Lane over rolling hills, the walks here are stunning. I live on Harlow Hill and never tire of the diverse weather conditions and great Yorkshire views. The nature is really the... More

Great way (if you like walking) to get around Harrogate and Knaresborough but some improvement in direction signs required in places.

http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Travel-g187046-d1897531/Harrogate:United-Kingdom:Harrogate.Ringway.html posted this years ago, but could not find a way to post on to the Things to do! Best thing I think is that you can do this in "sections" yes one will need a OS map for some sections as the path is not obvious. Living in Harrogate we love the section from Harrogate (Harlow Carr) to Knaresborough... More

Recently did the Harrogate Ringway as part of a week in North Yorkshire A delightful walk along rivers & streams, easy walking in the main part with a couple of small climbs but nothing over exerting. Well signposted for most of route and close to the suburbs of Harrogate & Knaresborough if you wanted to cut walk short or take... More

Well signposted and varied route, not too far from pubs and shops. Maps widely available to buy. Easy to do just part of it if you're short of time.

A hidden gem only a few minutes from Harrogate town centre - great for a quiet country walk or with the family on bikes or prams. Lovely scenery and places to sit and relax; historic pub and snack bar near Ripley - plus Ripley village & Castle - great day out!

This is such a varied walk, with no difficult sections. The paths are not over-populated! My only criticism is that some parts lack clear signposting. However, with an OS map, you should not lose too much time picking up the route.

We did a chunk of the Western section of Harrogate Ringway last night, and parts of it were a nightmare. Some of it is so overgrown we were advised by other walkers to avoid it and take detours. We got so badly stung by nettles that our legs are still tingling today. For the bit between Pannal church and Stone... More

This is a great walk around Harrogate and Knaresborough. Whilst the walk itself is not challenging in terms of ascents and descents, the length certainly is. 20 miles offers a very challenging days walking, but can easily be split into smaller sections to enjoy over a couple of days. There are numerous pubs on route, but if undertaking in a... More
