Description: You probably know us as a lovely place for children to see the animals...
You probably know us as a lovely place for children to see the animals, run around in beautiful countryside and let off steam in our state-of-the-art play barn - but there's a lot more to Sacrewell. With the help of £1.4 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund, our 18th century water mill is being transformed into a national centre for milling excellence - take a tour and find out how your great-grandparents got their daily bread. Foodies can also join a tractor trip around the fields of our tenant farmers Riverford Organic Farms (it's on our land). Then there's our wildlife trail, scavenger hunt and two new rambles - if you're lucky, you'll see the rare red kites and brown hares. Seasonal events range from our Lamb National to ploughing with vintage tractors. You can even meet a film star - some of our shires appeared in War Horse. In our 50th year as a charity dedicated to agricultural education, we continue to welcome students of all ages who want to learn traditional skills and get an insight into rural life. We hope that all our visitors not only have a great day out but feel they've learned something too.

Went to see the recently refurbished water mill and was not disappointed. Lottery funding well spent. The rest of the farm was pretty good, well sign posted and plenty of information. Particularly liked the shire horses

We have been to Sacrewell a few times, usually in March, when the lambs have just been born and you get a chance to see - and hear - them being fed. But any time would be good, to get close to and feed all the lovely animals and enjoy the various activities available.

We have renewed our membership for the second year running as we love this place. My two children love visiting Sacrewell, exploring the outside areas and playing in the soft play barn. The newly renovated water mill is fantastic. My girls love to say hello to all the animals and feed them. We enjoy spotting wild birds too and Sacrewell... More

This is fantastic news. We are very lucky have have a lot of wildlife here from the very visible Red Kites to tiny Goldcrests. We're also in the process of updating the info in the bird hide, so watch this space. More

Not that big but my grandson loved his visit, the mill wasn't open as they were rebuilding but it will be nice once it's finished. On paying for entrance I was asked if I wanted to give gift aid,but I didn't realised that it was more expensive as I wasn't told,as a large group it was quite a lot.It was chucking... More

Thank you very much-if we're educational and fun we're hitting the nail on the head with what we're trying to achieve. I'm sorry you weren't told the Giftaid price was higher-we will ensure it's a message that's being put across in future. More

We have a season ticket here so go quite often. Just wanted to add that the new mill is looking fabulous. Great to have some money spent on it. Interesting displays and rooms to wander around in. Finally met the cat we have been seeing over the years sleeping in one of the rooms!

Thank you so much-it means a lot to hear our regular visitors are impressed with the mill (and it is a hit with Rosie too). More

Unfortunately we found that compared to othe farms we have visited there animals were few and far between and the whole experience was done in an hour. Not value for money

Took the grandkids and they had a good time, which made it good for us. Place could do with a little more TLC, they are trying with the reception and café. Suggest if you want some variety take your own picnic.
