Description: You probably know us as a lovely place for children to see the animals...
You probably know us as a lovely place for children to see the animals, run around in beautiful countryside and let off steam in our state-of-the-art play barn - but there's a lot more to Sacrewell. With the help of £1.4 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund, our 18th century water mill is being transformed into a national centre for milling excellence - take a tour and find out how your great-grandparents got their daily bread. Foodies can also join a tractor trip around the fields of our tenant farmers Riverford Organic Farms (it's on our land). Then there's our wildlife trail, scavenger hunt and two new rambles - if you're lucky, you'll see the rare red kites and brown hares. Seasonal events range from our Lamb National to ploughing with vintage tractors. You can even meet a film star - some of our shires appeared in War Horse. In our 50th year as a charity dedicated to agricultural education, we continue to welcome students of all ages who want to learn traditional skills and get an insight into rural life. We hope that all our visitors not only have a great day out but feel they've learned something too.

Had the privilege to accompany my daughter and 18 month old grandson to Sacrewell Farm in April this year and thought how marvellous it was for all ages of Children.. Petting area, softplay area, outdoor play park, cafe, tractor tour around the farm, a few fun rides and I do believe they have camping facilities too. We enjoyed it so... More

We visited with my parents and our daughter when she was just over 1 years old. There was an amazing bluegrass and Cider festival on, it was brilliant. We thought we would go back again (12 years later!!) We now have a farm and tractor loving son, a teen age daughter and decided to meet my sister and her family... More

We came for a couple of hours. The kids had fun feeding the animals, visiting the newly renovated mill and playing in the refurbished soft play centre. We also had lunch in the cafe and they served a nice selection of food. Good value for money.

Working mill with knowable staff to help. Animals including shire horses. Indoor and outdoor play areas for children. Vintage farm implements in original old barns. Lovely walks with views of the countryside.Lovely café with gorgeous cakes and scones. Different events planned throughout the year. There were small steam machines when were there. Enjoyed the whole day.

We visited the farm over the weekend and were amazed by the transformation. The Mill looks absolutely amazing and it was nice to see a much improved play barn. We will consider camping there over the summer holidays :-)

Great family day out. Excellent shop and café. Watermill very interesting. Could do with more information being given on the history of the site.

Thank you very much fro your review and I'm delighted you enjoyed the mill. You'll be pleased to know that a timeline of the history of Sacrewell is being made to go on the second floor of the mill and we are already planning our next project to use one of the old barns to interpret Sacrewell's history even further.... We decided to take our grandchildren to Sacrewell Farm, for a treat. What a mistake,we were there, only an hour. Its called a farm, but the biggest thing is the cafe and souvenir shop. We paid £23 for faimily ticket, abd yes we saw a few animals, the usual rabbits, goats, sheep and shetland ponies..oh and a couple of peacocks but... More

Thank you for your review and I'm disappointed to hear that you didn't enjoy your visit. At this time of the year we have events running all day, and despite the fact we had had to cancel ferret racing because the barn was in use for something else, we did replace the event with rabbit handling so that no one... The weather was very hot and it was the perfect place for a day trip out with the family. I was working, doing a spot of filming but in between work spells I walked around the beautiful meadows by the streams and stroked the farm animals.

Took my grandchildren here for the day and we had a whale of a time. There is a big indoor playpark and plenty of animals to feed. Peacocks and tame small birds mill around. The restaurant is good value for money and the fare was very good too. Thsi place is recommended for families with young children. Not much to... More
