Established in 1723, it has grown into an family business with the country's most interesting shops and some of its very best food. You'll find a lovely store here too with throws and blankets from the Mill, fashion, homewares, gifts and a gorgeous café with delicious home cooking. After a wonderful drive through the Avoca Vale, we visited the old mill and its shop. Must say it was a gordious, sunny day which made the mill to be a lovely location for a stop. The factory visit (free) is interesting and the marvellous products (e.g. scarfs, blankets) are sold in the shop next to the mill. Excellent parking... More

I've been in three Avoca stores in Ireland and this one is amazing. The quality of the product is fantastic. I purchased a lovely, modern throw and a scarf for a dear friend back in the states. We ate lunch and it was delicious. The mill tour added to the experience. They have it all together at this place. More

Due to inclement weather our group cut short the visit to Mount Usher Gardens & headed to the AVOCA MILL....Congratulations to our coach driver for negotiating the parking!! We had a tour of the Mill and had a talk on the history of AVOCA.....All very interesting & the colours of the yarns are just dazzling.........A must for crafters!! There is... More

My mom and I spent a day exploring the area and found our way here. What a fun shop! We had lunch, tea and enjoyed looking around the shop and the grounds. More

The mill is in a beautiful setting. The woolen mills are open to visitors and it was very interesting to see the looms working. There is a shop and cafe too. More

The handweavers appeared to be limited on weekends. We were glad that a guy showed us the skill before going on lunch break, but closing the shop limited our experience to shopping upstairs, too. Suggest not to visit over the lunch hour or stop and eat in the cafe and then see the weaving. More

Was taken here for afternoon tea (Irish style) drink & a wonderful scone. All the cakes/bakes look inviting. There is a shop here too that has clothes, gifts & postcards. The shop is a little pricey, but definitely worth a look & fine if you want to treat yourself. I would go back just for the cakes! More
